Gay couples rush to wed ahead of Calif. election

San Francisco (AP) -- Gay couples from around California and the nation are feverishly tying the knot ahead of Election Day to avoid missing out if voters approve a ballot initiative aimed at banning same-sex marriage.

Aaron Twitchell and Orlando Manzo from Austin, Texas, waited two months for an appointment to get a marriage license in San Francisco. When they got to the city clerk's office, the line of people ahead of them was so long they worried they would be late for their own wedding.

"We are so happy California is so progressive they would allow something like this," said Manzo, 33, as his partner of nine years recently watched the clock and held a Tiffany's bag with their platinum rings inside. "I wouldn't say it's now or never, but we wanted to get married before then."

The urgency intensified last week with news that Proposition 8's supporters had far outraised its opponents and the measure was gaining support in public opinion polls.

So if by some miracle prop 8 passes. And I think there is a chance it will.

No marriage, but they get to keep their lovely pseudo-licenses.

For those that are coming in from out of state, the marriages are already null and void as soon as they return home. For the ones who live in California, the marriages will be invalidated as far as the state is concerned.

Apparently Manzo, 33, isn't aware that it was one stinkin' judge who made California so 'progressive'.

Prop 8 will pass easily but expect a lot of vote fraud coming out of Alameda, SF and LA counties.

I remember in the 2004 Election there were 11 states that had Gay Marriage on the ballot and it got crushed everywhere, even the states that Kerry won. Ann Coulter cited that the biggest opponents who voted against proved hugely ironic: Black, Hispanics, Jews and Blue Collar jobholders - all pillar Democrat constituencies!

Does anyone know where I can find that statistcal breakdown, or where info like that would be available? Would love to show it to all the liberals I run into here and prove to them their own party is betraying them LOL.

Thanks.

I’m sure a lot of the dead will be voting in SF and LA.

"I’m sure a lot of the dead will be voting in SF and LA."

A lot of dead aids dudes in both places fer shure but Alameda county takes the prize when it comes to rat vote fraud. Oakland will be the focal point for stuffed, lost, magically discovered, folded and spindled ballots.

Oakland, pop. 350k, required almost a month to 'count' ballots during their last mayoral race. This is the one where Ron 'Red' Dellums narrowly beat out Ignacio 'Crime Boss' De LaFuente.

It was great. Rat on rat fraud at its finest...

You can’t say ‘sodomy’ here. At least not when discussing homosexuals.

All those "marriages" will be invalid. The San Francisco perverts are trying to get their last fix before they're told NO! Its sad, really.

They never happened, if the California Constitution is followed. Then, they go to Massachusetts and try spreading the "love" again.
