ARLINGTON, VA -- U.S. Senator John McCain delivered the following remarks at the McCain-Palin 2008 rally in Virginia Beach, VA:
Three weeks from now, you will choose a new President. Choose well. There is much at stake.......
The next President won't have time to get used to the office. He won't have the luxury of studying up on the issues before he acts. He will have to act immediately. And to do that, he will need experience, courage, judgment and a bold plan of action to take this country in a new direction. We cannot spend the next four years as we have spent much of the last eight: waiting for our luck to change. The hour is late; our troubles are getting worse; our enemies watch. We have to act immediately. We have to change direction now. We have to fight.
.... I'm not afraid of the fight, I'm ready for it.
How many showed up at the Virginia rally today? Anyone know?
I saw both Palin & McCain on tv at the gym this morning. Palin was great and as the FNC people McCain clearly had a new stump speech.
Is FR recording responses yet?
How many?? Looked pretty large to me.
Sarah is expecting HUGE numbers at the NASCAR track in Richmond later. Could it be the record, surpassing the Villages? They said the track can hold 100,000, I would hope for 60-70, that would be great!
Looked pretty large.
found this in an article.....
“The GOP faithful endured backups on Interstate 264 East that stretched beyond First Colonial Road, and parking lots at the convention center were full. As supporters awaited McCain’s arrival, country star Hank Williams Jr., clad in a Washington Redskins jersey, entertained the crowd.”
Not good that he has to be in Virgina this close to the election. That state should have been on lock down months ago. I don’t like the fact that most of the states where the battles are being fought and the resourced deployed now are ones that went red last time. Its always nicer to be in a position to go on offense in their states instead of having to defend ours.
