sadly, 60% of Joe Sixpack does not follow nor care about this. and vast swarms of young people 18-30, have no concept of a "Weathermen" or a "Bill Ayers" and when confronted with that story, tend to say "like, you know, whatevvvver". They cannot relate to the violence of the 1960s...they will vote for the Messiah regardless of being confronted with this informaton. Minds have shut down. They want manna from heaven and a complete change, even if it means slouching towards totalitarianism.

I am afraid that as long as this is limited to Fox News, it is just preaching to the same, already mobilized, conservative choir--not the whole of America. We will probably see it a few Tuesday nights from now as state after state falls to Obama. It needs to get to the people through the alphabet soup TV channels, all news radio, as well, and mainstream newspapers, etc. etc. otherwise most people asked on the street a) do not even know what you are talking about on these issues and b) if they have some inkling, it is liable to be "too bad McCain is going negative".

By and large, and it comes as no surprise to me, vast swarms of American populace are woefully underinformed, nor do they have a constitution to want to learn things of importance, until it is too late.

it reflects, in my mind, a fundamental "PearlHarborability" of the American People that is a part of our national culture. Always ignore the warning signs, wake up finally when you get smacked in the head with something.

The American People are going to regret the SOCIALISM they are smacked in the head with, but by that time, it will be too late.

True. FNC man on the street interviews this week asking about Ayers makes your points abundantly valid. Only one out of ten was alarmed about Ayers. The other nine either didn't know who he was or didn't care.

Great tagline, btw. Looking forward to it.

Your post has me in tears. Sadly you are right. We are ignorantly following a path that will ultimately end America up in a dung heap...but it will be over by then. No turning back. Better prepare ourselves for it now.

Couldn't resist your literary allusion, so here it is.

The Second Coming

Turning and turning in the widening gyre

The falcon cannot hear the falconer;

Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;

Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,

The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere

The ceremony of innocence is drowned;

The best lack all conviction, while the worst

Are full of passionate intensity.

Surely some revelation is at hand;

Surely the Second Coming is at hand.

The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out

When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi

Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert

A shape with lion body and the head of a man,

A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,

Is moving its slow thighs, while all around it

Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.

The darkness drops again; but now I know

That twenty centuries of stony sleep

Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,

And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,

Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?
