A Thread for FReepers to Brainstorm on Ways to Win this Thing [2008 Victory Caucus]
Titus Quinctius Cincinnatus

Posted on 10/12/2008 5:44:06 AM PDT by Titus Quinctius Cincinnatus

Dear Fellow FReepers,

I don't intend for this thread to be a vanity. I'm posting this thread because I thought it might be a way for interested, active, activist-minded FReepers to share thoughts and brainstorm today on how best we can make a difference these final three weeks, and HOW to go about implementing these ideas. The intention is to win the victory in 2008. Let's all come up with some ideas and get ORGANISED!

I've added a [2008 Victory Caucus] tag in emulation of the set up that the Religion Moderator has for religious threads - a "Caucus" thread is only for those who belong to the group or who are "interested friendlies". Likewise, I would like for this thread to be just for people who are interested in actually winning this election. If you just want to come on and whine about the polls or how badly McCain is doing on the stump (as if we already didn't know), then find some other thread to post your negativism on. This thread is about finding ways to win, not sapping everybody's spirit. Please, go find somewhere else to troll.

I won't be back on for a few hours, but I'll put up a general idea for now and hopefully start some brainshowers.

Idea: Viral networking. Regular readers of FR know that we have the information on here that can sink Obama....if only people knew about it. Most people in this country (I'm sorry to say) don't even know about Free Republic, much less read it daily. I'd wager that a majority of people in this country don't read blogs, etc. either. There's all this great information out there, but most people don't have access to it because they don't go to the right places to get it, and the sources for news that they DO utilise (nightly news, newspaper, weekly political magazines, etc.) are all slanted to the left and won't touch this stuff with a 20-foot pole.

So....we go viral. I never saw the movie (for reasons not related to the movie itself), but I heard that Cloverfield relied solely upon a small viral network for its advertising, and proved to be something of a success. What if a bundle of dedicated FReepers decided that we were going to serve as the nexus point for a viral network to get out the information around the information firewall that the MSM has established? What if we got the truth about Obama out there in a way that the MSM couldn't stop, and couldn't distort?

I propose that every FReeper who's interested should start sending out the goldmine of stories found right here on Free Republic to our email lists of friends and families, both to people who are liberal/leaners/undecided AND to those who we know are for McCain-Palin and who would be happy to send this stuff on to THEIR email lists, hopefully ad infinitum. Simple six degrees of separation suggests that this would get info out to nearly everybody in this country who has an email account.

What do you all think?

If all the wealthy investors who are currently moving their money off-shore in the event of an Obama win, maybe they can send some money to the McCain campaign for ads on TV.

Does McCain need a 1/2 hour spot on TV to counter Obama’s 1/2 hour TV spot?

We also need the Philip Berg lawsuit to come to mainstream media news.

I don’t know what everyone is so worried about. Every election the media lies about the Rats being waaay ahead. Every election the freepers get depressed because for some reason even after years and years of repeat experience, they still buy into the BS.

The current economic woes will play into McCain’s hands. By the time Nov rolls around people will be seeing that no matter how bad the economy gets the Rats could never ever stand a chance of fixing it.

The media even said that Mondale has a good chance against Reagan. The lie and lie and lie and then they lie some more. The only way Obamalama can win is through massive massive voting fraud. And the fraud in Ohio just got squelched by the court.

Jeez. You guys are depressing.

Allow me to ask you something?

Just why in the Hell would anyone pay any attention to a ""hard hitting" (?)recorded 1/2 hour message from a guy who hasn't the gonads to do it live and in "that ones" face.

Even the little zero said he (McCain) won't say it to my face.

We need to play up that B. Hussein Obama was Consigliere’ to ACORN, the vote-fraud syndicate. We need to let people know Stuttering Barry was the disciple of Bombing Billy Ayers, who’s also a probable rapist. Finally, we need to hope and pray that the $400 million blitz by Republicans and their allies actually comes off and is effective.

Absolutely! God's people need to get serious about bringing this before the Lord. I'm not saying this is the only thing we should do (obviously) - we need to put feet to those prayers - but it is God who sets up one and brings down another.

These videos are AWESOME! This is exactly the sort of thing I was talking about in my post - these are perfect for a viral campaign. Hard-hitting, young, regular real people like us and like most of the people in this country.

Look, we all know the MSM influences a lot of people. We need to counter that. It’s not enough for US to know the truth, and to poo-poo the polls. Millions out there, if they hear the MSM cheerleading for 0bama, will start to believe it, and that is millions of votes.

We CANNOT assume that past events will predict our future. We cannot assume that the past slanting towards Kerry, Gore, etc. will continue to be just smoke and mirrors, especially with the ramped up rah-rah for 0bama. Even if we ARE really winning and just don’t know it yet, we need to get out there and campaign and work like we’re 15 points behind.

Another tactical (or is it strategic? ;> ) idea - any FReepers who know conservatives/GOP in the Florida panhandle, we need to get on the horn with them NOW and remind them that, even if the MSM starts calling their State for 0bama 15 minutes after the polls close in West Palm Beach, they still need to get out and vote in droves. Ask them to remind every McCain voter they know. the Panhandle is largely in the Central Time Zone, while the rest of the State is in Eastern. Polls close in the Panhandle an hour after the rest of the State, IIRC.

In 2000, the MSM started calling Florida for Gore while voting was still going on in the Panhandle. This is widely thought to have depressed the Bush vote in this heavily GOP area enough to have made the FL vote count as close as it was. If the media hadn’t done that, it wouldn’t have been nearly as close, the results would have been more like the 2004 victory Bush cruised to in FL. Don’t let the MSM rob us of Florida this year, which I would bet dollars to donuts they will try to do to win it for 0bama.
