McCain Camp, RNC To Spend $160 Million In Final Weeks
FoxNews.com ^ | 10/10/08 | James Rosen

John McCain's campaign and the Republican National Committee plan to spend "upwards of $160 million" in the final weeks of the presidential race, according to a senior McCain adviser.

This will represent a massive counter-attack to combat Barack Obama's lopsided spending advantage to date.

The McCain adviser told FOX News that, while Obama is outspending them in all but two of 14 battleground states, "that will change over the last four weeks."

As national and battleground state polls show McCain trailing Obama consistently, McCain is urging voters not to count him out.

"In case you missed it, this is about the seventh or eighth time that pundits have said 'McCain's campaign is in trouble,'" he told Wisconsin voters Thursday. "We fooled them then and we will fool them again."

Where did you hear this from? I just learned a co-worker of mine is going to PA on the weekends to sign people up. I am afraid to ask if it’s with ACORN.
Is your source reliable? People are not responding?
I mean, what did they think anyway - “I’m here to tell you how your state should vote?, cause your dumb?”

McCain’s gonna need more than money to come back and win. A good performance in the debate on Wednesday will provide a much needed boost.

McCain opened 50 offices in California a couple of months ago. The campaign says it’s in play.

The calvary has arrived and will expose Black Liberation Theology.

* 31 years of a failed Democratic Party policy, encouraging and pressuring banks to issue more and more risky loans, is what caused this economic crisis

* At the forefront in the early 90s was Obama. He sued Citibank, and he trained and funded ACORN, when they were intimidating banks to issue more of these risky loans

* It snowballed from there when Obama’s economic advisors, former CEOs of Fannie Mae, implemented this failed policy at Fannie Mae. (Note Fanny and Freddie buy over 85% of the mortgages originated in this country)

* Even when warned about an impending crisis, Democrats still blocked reform in 2003 and 2005 that would have prevented it

* So far this failed Democratic Party policy of 31 years has cost taxpayers over one trillion dollars, and Obama's 'agenda'... will make taxpayers pay even more

Karl Rove was given the keys to $200 million PAC money to target Obama and the dems too.

When did this happen?

California has an amendment that is bringing Republicans out, if the 527’s are running ads in California and the campaign opened 50 offices in California then California is in play and the polls were seeing are BS like I’ve been saying all along.

You always have to look at what the campaigns are doing to get a feel for the “real” polls.

Yes. Bless him. “The Ship That Would Not Die.” An incredible story. The bravery of American sailors in WW2 and other wars is staggering.

Some of the USN stories of WW2 were amazing. The ships that took on the Japanese fleet in one battle with just destroyers. A great book was written about that. Tin Can something in the title.

There is a show on cable Dogfights. They did a naval battle with that little destroyer that took on a bunch of Japanese cruisers to protect the fleet. They reenact with incredible computer animation. I practically cried watching it. What bravery.

The US Navy always have been an elite and smart bunch. Best navy in the world and that is not to take away from the US Marines, Army or Air Force.

McCain and company were just sitting in wait along with the NRA. I was suprised the NRA waited so long. $40 million at the NRA alone. While the USN is the best, the NRA is the best group at protecting the Constitution. The saying is “The Second protects all the others.”

If Obama can withstand $200 million or $400 million then I will be shocked. Please remember a lot of people loathe him including our side (Repubs) and Hillary’s Dems.

I hope he ends up in jail for Rezko and ACORN.

“Flood tubes 1 and 2.”

“Bring the USS McCain-Palin to flank speed.”

“Prepare to attack.”

Time to go to sleep. Have a good night all.

The group has 4 million members who are the most motivated voters on the planet - bar none.

I'll say. 24 years old, never owned a gun before, but I might have to join up one day. If only more conservative interest groups could be like the NRA. (We could damn well use one or two NRA-like financial groups right now.)

Repubs/GOP are just quietly in the weeds while Obama’s side is firing wildly. I think they have been top secret in setting up this ambush.

GOP GOTV is the last week or 72-hours. We need to be there to volunteer. The 2004 Bush effort was incredible.

I think McCain can pull Cal. Hillary voters, Jewish voters, Repubs, military and ex-military. Barry is not loved by as many people as the MSM is trying to fools us with.

My mother is reading a book on the Franklin right now. My father would never talk about the war.

He finally told my brother many years ago(Tank Commander US Army) that he was a fireman down below and was on deck when the Franklin was struck and all his friends burned to death down below.

NRA is a good group. Just outstanding. They protect the rights of all Americans. Even if someone cannot stand guns, they protect all of our rights by protecting the Second.

Someone mentioned Obama people doing nothing in PA offices. PA has LOTs of rural gun owners. They listen to the NRA before they listen to the union. They know the NRA is giving them the straight story.

The NRA is about to unleash it’s big guns. This will be fun. Their $40 million is like $80 million because they are so close to their base of 4 million plus at least 3 more million gun owners who are not memebrs.

My brother-in-law’s dad just passed away and he was infantry in the Battle of the Bulge and the push into Germany. Never spoke about it. Too hard. At his funeral we had 4 kids from the U.S. Army at the cemetary with taps. Very moving.

Your poor dad must have very bad memories. Most of us have no idea. To go through that is bad enough but they were just kids.

I think PA is definitely a red state this year. Lots of Hillary voters there who want nothing to do with Obama.

This is amazing, an optimistic thread on FR.

He signed up at 17. You were a disgrace if you didn’t enlist then, even in NYC where my parents are from, imagine that!
