With his electoral prospects fading by the day, Senator John McCain has fallen out with his vice-presidential running mate about the direction of his White House campaign.
McCain has become alarmed about the fury unleashed by Sarah Palin, the moose-hunting pitbull in lipstick, against Senator Barack Obama. Cries of terrorist and kill him have accompanied the tirades by the governor of Alaska against the Democratic nominee at Republican rallies.
Mark Salter, McCains long-serving chief of staff, is understood to have told campaign insiders that he would prefer his boss, a former Vietnam prisoner of war, to suffer an honourable defeat rather than conduct a campaign that would be out of character and likely to lose him the election.

Hah.
I stopped wearing heels 27yrs ago due to my lifestyle work needs.
But when I saw Sarahs deep reddish heels I go very jealous.
If I could still step out in heels I would have a pair just like those.
She has got great taste in fashion. JMO.
It’s not that I don’t want Obama’s socialist ties being exposed.
It’s that I don’t think they would resonate like the FM/FM meltdown would.
My daughter and son-in-law are in their late 30s.
I had to explain to them what socialism is.
Most people in this country don’t remember the cold war like you and I do.
However, the ‘Rats are almost solely to blame for the FM/FM fiasco.
The young ‘uns (under 40) can wrap their brains around that
I'm not hopeful.
I’m younger than your daughter and son-in-law.
I don’t believe this for a minute and have been unable to find anyone else from the campaign that does. This is more Bravo Sierra being put out there. Ever since the Bush people went to McCain after the Convention we have had leaks. They should fire everyone that joined following the Convention and shut down the leaks.
If it doesn’t come from Davis or Schmidt, then I am not buying it. They had to go rescue Sarah from the Bush people before her debate.
I’ve never been much for bumper stickers (for one thing: they’re hell to remove without damaging the paint!). Maybe it’s just that when I do see them, 9 out 10 times they’re far-left (I mean FAR-left) stickers, but it seems to me that bumper stickers are obnoxious — like libs! “I’m such a TOLERANT lib that while you’re behind me, I’m going to force you to read my tripe — and it’s so basic that I can fit it into a tiny slogan — like the ones I chant!”
Bleh. I’m an unassuming, quiet, stealthy conservative. Libs don’t know I’m there and I don’t obnoxiously scream my politics to anyone behind me, but as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow, those dirty hippies can bet that my heartbeat means a straight “R” pull come each November. They only way they’ll change that is to kill me — if they can find me first :^)
Good post. If Obama loses - which he should. You will see a lot of sh*t that will shock you. The sources of his money, the fact he is not an America (you think Berg is gonna back down? No way - bless him), ACORN stuff. My guess is Obama may go to jail. The global libtard marxist news media has a lot invested in this guy.
People wake up. This story was one of the worst piece of lies I ever read. The old Times of London was a good paper. This is worse than Murdoch’s Sun or News of the World (UK scandal sheets).
They are scared. McCain and Palin have been hit with constant crap, the markets have tanked (Soros/Fannie/Freddie caused), Obama has spent probably $200 million on TV ads and Obama STILL has not closed the deal.
I think we are probably tied or maybe Zogby having us down 3 or 4 might be close. They lied about Kerry & Gore polls too.
McCain hasn’t really started running ads nor has the NRA. The NRA started on Froday. The NRA has won every election for a Repub they supported since 1980. Reagan, Bush 1 the first election - dropped him second time after Brady Bill, did not back Dole due to Brady Bill, backed Bush 2 twice. The NRA does not lose.
No Dem has broken 50% since??? I think Carter did just barely. We have a lot of Hillary voters looking for MAJOR payback (bless them) and they want their party back. Mr. Berg in Philly is filing the suit about Obama’s citizenship. Berg is hardcore Clinton style Dem. These people want their party back and I think Berg is acting a patriot.
How the **** is Obama going to get anywhere near 50% when lot of Clinton people hate him and every Repub and most Dems I know will crawl across glass and salt to vote against Obama?
No whining - go volunteer or contribute.
I agree.
Sara will pull his butt out of his fires.
LOL!
You’re a quick, and smart, hoot. ;o)
Did I miss your opinion?
the average jo
naw more like the average Wanker.
: )
(us jo/joes arent to be taking lightly)
The press makes up a story and then reports like it is true and everyone just sits and buys it.
Yep!
That’s it in a nutshell.
Give hubby a kiss from us. He sounds like a smart guy. I am a male so I am not like that but a proxy kiss through his wife is pretty safe. :-)
He sounds like a wise man. I think McCain picks up PA, WS, MN and maybe NJ. He also will get FL, NC, GA, VA. the farmers in Iowa will also wake up and smell the coffee.
No member of local law enforcement heard the "shout". No member of the secret Service heard the shout. No one in the audience heard the shout.
Therefore, to Dana Milbank, I say BULLSH*T! You're a liar Milbank!
She will have to do it, McCain needs to pull the restictor plate off and put the pedal to the medal.
Let me respond this way. I don’t see why the London Times reporter would make this up. My understanding is that they are conservative and probably friendlier to McCain than other British media. Moreover, what this reporter is reporting is, unfortunately, very plausible to me. It is consistent with some of my own guesses about what has been going on inside the McCain campaign.
McCain has a choice: Bob Dole or Harry Truman. Bob Dole would not go after Clinton in the way that he had to do in order to have any chance of winning. By contrast, Harry “give ‘em hell” Truman did just that, but explained that he was simply telling the truth and his opponent thought it was hell. Truman won, Dole lost. Negative campaining works when it is truthful and makes meaningful points. If you want to see how it’s done, watch Sarah Palin’s speech today in PA. It was devastating. You can watch the video at C-Span’s website.
You are?
Well, God love you for understanding history!
I can’t tell you how impressed I am with you.
You have a vision that most people don’t/can’t have.
No wonder I’ve always loved your posts.
You’re a young ‘un who has a vision that I can’t see.
Thank you for being so informed that you can relate to the past.
My son-in-law is especially motivated in understanding how we got to where we are now.
Same here. I have no problem with that either.
I live in the True Blue state of Maryland and I only see McCain/Palin yard signs everywhere and some of them are HUGE!!! (Not scientific I know but if there were that much excitement out there for That One then don't you think that there would be more willingness to show it?)
I live in the Peoples Republic of Seattle and while I've only seen a few McCain-Palin signs or bumper stickers, I haven't seen as many Obama-Biden signs or bumper stickers as I expected to see for this uber liberal city. I recall seeing a lot more Kerry signs and bumper stickers at this time in 2004 than I've seen of Obama's. They were sprouting up like mushrooms back in 2004.
I've ran across a couple of Democrats that do not like Obama and will not be voting this year as well and another one that is seriously thinking of voting for McCain. Heck, the lefty gal that lives across the street, as of this date, still hasn't put up an Obama yard sign. She had her 'Impeach Bush' sign up forever in her yard. I've only seen one Obama-Biden sign on my street - in 2004, there were probably over a dozen Kerry yardsigns.
I've also heard that early voter turnout may actually be down from 2004 across the country and that only some 4,000 voters showed up for the same day register and vote scam that went on in Ohio, much lower than what was predicted. Maybe with all the media hype, there may not be as big an interest in this campaign as they claim or at least not that big of interest in voting for NObama.
