Booed on the ice
It's hard to blame Sarah Palin for her booing on the ice in Philadelphia this evening. It's almost a truism of politics that if you send a pol to a sporting event, he's going to get booed. Politicians, as a class, aren't all that popular, and it's what sports fans do. According to legend, Eagles fans once booed Santa Claus. Still, not a great moment.
The Times hockey blog says the boos were "resounding." The Wilmington paper says it was an "avalanche."
I thought fans were impatient with any kind of special appearance, and were prone to boo just because they want to get on with the game the came to see.
"Heres to hoping you never have to realize that."
LOL, your talking to a guy who voted for Carter, trust me I know regret and I believe we are still paying for that mans time in office. I believe that I would feel just a bad had I just sat out that election. So I think your decision is just bone headed. But it's your right to make a bone headed decision of course.
I wouldn’t fret over this. It will be a good move.
What you never read in the accounts is the REASON the fans booed and threw snowballs at Frank - - it was because he was scrawny! The Santa suit hung off him like a burlap bag! You don’t try to pass off no skinny Santa Claus on us Philly fans because we know the REAL Santa Claus is fat.
I’ve heard Frank interviewed on local sports radio and he still laughs about it.

it was a preseason game the seats are given away.
OK. Well at least you've admitted that they did boo.
So we're making some progress. ;^)
...it was because he was scrawny!
What was he thinking? 8^p
D@#n! Pens lose in OT
I only get 1 post a day, so I can’t post this. But, anyone who can should post this article- talk about hate. I started a local blog about Sarah, maybe 500 hits a day. One night, I posted a civil comment on the NYTimes message board. Within 3 hrs, I had 2500 hits-those who left comments all vile. This Dem crew is well organized down to the lowest level-they come out of the woodwork like hornets. You wouldn’t believe my e-mail.
Anyway, here’s the article on Gov. Palin- That McCain should make her say “we must be respectful” is a sin under the circumstances.

“And as a VP candidate the Secret Service presence will be there as well”
That reminds me (stop me if I told you this story before, LOL) of the night we went to see Jelly’s Last Jam on broadway. President and Mrs. Ford were present that night, but the first inclination I had about that was seeing guys in suits with earpieces standing in the aisle before the show.
The audience was very well behaved, and Gregory Hines and the cast gave a great performance!
That is correct. They looked for a little while like they were trying to be serious over there, but I started catching them in lie after lie starting a few months ago. I mean brazen lies, not just rhetorical liberties.
So now I don't bother with it.

Thanks for the link. Didn’t hear booing either- sounded like fans being fans. Please don’t ask me what I would have liked to have heard (a deafining roar of support for a woman, upon whose shoulders, much of what makes us great as a nation, rests).
Please quite posting this...you are wrong. This was the Flyer's season openner. The game was sold out. The tickets are not cheap (even during pre-season) and most seats would be held by season ticket holders.
(Errrrr) Just saw that. Watching the PSU game as well :) (Sport mult-tasking going one here). But I was serious (or series) Mario should invite Gov. Palin to the Igloo.
This is incredible. Philadelphia is the birthplace of American liberty, and today it has become a cesspool of pro-Obama Commies who boo the Great American Patriot, Governor Sarah Palin, the next Vice President of the US.
This is one reason why I’m glad when the Eagles lose, even though I live in the Philly suburbs. Anything that makes those bozos unhappy puts a smile on my face.
I'd like to see her reaction before coming to that conclusion.
An arena filled with resounding or deafing boos from ordinary Americans, is not a good thing for a candidate 3 weeks before the election, no matter what.
