Barack Obama is the target of a shadowy smear campaign designed to derail his bid for the US Presidency by falsely claiming he had a close friendship with an attractive African-American female employee. The whispers focus on a young woman who in 2004 was hired to work on his team for his bid to become a senator. The woman was purportedly sidelined from her duties after Senator Obama’s wife, Michelle, became convinced that he had developed a personal friendship with her. The allegations were initially circulated in August, just two weeks before the convention at which Obama finally beat his opponent for the Democratic Party nomination, Hillary Clinton.
The woman, now 33, vigorously denies the vicious and unsubstantiated gossip.
And some Washington insiders suggested that she was the victim of an 11th-hour attempt to smear Obama by die-hard Hillary supporters.
But now the rumours have resurfaced, suggesting that they may be coming from elements in the Republican Party.
According to sources interviewed by The Mail on Sunday, the respected Los Angeles Times, the tabloid National Enquirer and the huge ABC television network have been provided with the woman’s name.

Obama vacation: Fair game for press?

For days, the Obama campaign refused to confirm where the senator and his family were heading on a short Easter vacation, even as rumors spread among the press corps that they were bound for the Virgin Islands.
So that presented a conundrum for news organizations: Should they send a correspondent on the — presumably enjoyable — assignment to the Caribbean, to investigate the white sand beaches and clear blue waters?

That was my reaction! ‘Obama seen with young boy’ resonates. ‘Obama seen with beautiful woman’...well, I would lay more odds on his being born in Kenya or finding a video of him shouting, “I hate whitey!”

Obama was keeping such a low profile that his presidential campaign would not say where he is staying. Local officials also were mum.

I think we need to focus elsewhere. Not because I think a sex scandal is insignificant, but because too many other voters do. It didn’t make much of a dent in Clinton’s support. I have no reason to believe it will hurt Obama either.
If true, it’s good to get the information out there, but just as one more straw on his back.
We need to put ourselves in the shoes of the undecided middle and look at things from THEIR perspective, not OURS. What would it take to sway them?
Personally, I think sex scandals and the abortion issue will make little difference to the undecideds and may even help Obama.
I think what will hurt him is pinning him down on the fact that on most issues he has NO position. He is very careful not to take a stand on anything, at least until after he tests the wind. The bailout is a prime example. He weasels out of giving straight answers and replies with mushy things that no one could disagree with. Hope. Yeah, I’m in favor of hope. Change, too. Could we get a few more specifics???
His questionable citizenship, questionable loyalty, ties to terrorists, ties to corruption, thug tactics, voter fraud, repeated lying are all possible issues that will affect the choices of the middle.
