The SS-N-23 (NATO reporting name: Skiff)is a liquid propellant, submarine-launched ballistic missile in use by Russia. The SS-N-23 was designed for use by the Russian Delta IV submarine, each of which is capable of carrying 16 missiles. It carries four 100kT warhead and has a range of about 8,500 kilometers.
The latest version of the missile, RSM-54 Sineva, did on the 11 october 2008 cover a distance of 11,547 km in an military exercise in the Barents Sea. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev was on site to the observe the test.[1]
