Hearing to investigate hedge funds postponed

House Democrats have postponed until after the election a hearing to investigate the role of hedge funds in the credit meltdown to accommodate witnesses, who include billionaire financier George Soros.
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee announced late Friday that its hearing on hedge funds would include Soros, a major Democratic financial backer.
At the same time, it announced that the Oct 16 hearing would be rescheduled for Nov. 13.
A statement from the committee said, “the committee has postponed the hearing in order to accommodate the schedules of witnesses.”
Oversight Chairman Henry Waxman is holding a series of hearings to look into the causes of the instability plaguing markets and freezing lending across the country and around the world. Earlier this week, he grilled the former CEOs of Lehman Brothers, which is in bankruptcy, and American International Group, which got an $80 billion federal bailout. Waxman has also indicated he’ll look into the bailout of mortgage lenders Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

My take is most of these wild child hedgers are Democrats. So the Democrats are covering up for their buddies. Hillary got tremendous level of donations from Wall St

At some point here things may get rough enough that we will need to convene some ad hoc "peoples' courts" to bring these guys to the bar of justice.

On O’Reilly last night, Ben Stein mentioned that the humongous Ivy league endowments are also likely tied into the hedge fund mess. If you check Open Secrets, I believe the category “education” contributes in about a 5 to 1 ratio for the Democrats, so they don’t want to touch this.
If anyone can follow up on the endowment/hedge fund angle, I would love to hear it, since they ran out of time before Ben could get into it and explain it more fully.

OK....let’s just put the whole dam country on hold until after the election. What the hell, if Congress can do this and refuse to investigate, we can stop everything else. Like don’t pay bills, don’t pay Congress......they aren’t doing what they get payed for anyway.

A nice thought, but like every dirty deal the 'Rats are involved in, nothing will come of this. This is SOP for 'Rats. Postpone things until after an election, knowing that in two years no one will even remember this. The media will provide cover for the 'Rats, bury it down the memory hole, or find a way to blame it on the 'Pubs (who will do their usual roll over), and the stupid, idiotic, incredibly lazy sheeple will buy it.
