AP: Legislative panel: Palin abused authority (AP Gotcha Headline)

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - A legislative committee investigating Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has found she unlawfully abused her authority in firing the state's public safety commissioner.

The investigative report concludes that a family grudge wasn't the sole reason for firing Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan but says it likely was a contributing factor.

The Republican vice presidential nominee has been accused of firing a commissioner to settle a family dispute. Palin supporters have called the investigation politically motivated.

Monegan says he was dismissed as retribution for resisting pressure to fire a state trooper involved in a bitter divorce with the governor's sister. Palin says Monegan was fired as part of a legitimate budget dispute.

The McCain/Palin camp needs to pull out the big guns aka Rev. Wright.

The MSM won’t allow them to win the election.

Good Ole Boy Network waxing some poetic justice on Palin...nothing else. Just enough to give the media to talk about over the weekend.

His finding should have gone no further than “she had a right to sack him”

In effect, he went beyond his course of investigation.

This was politically motivated.

“Legislative panel is made of 10 Republicans and 4 Democrats. Are these Republicans stupid?”

Not stupid, but several were, I believe, good old boys (or girls) who had been burned by Palin’s reforming ways.

Whoopteedooda! How does this story rank with Obama being too snooty to visit with soldiers while he was doing his treasonous PR tour in Iraq? Just wondering, because I haven’t seen the networks jumping on what is obviously a juicy story.

How bogus does it get? “A contributing factor”? That’s ALL?

So? The nation of Islam, through Louis Faracon, says Oboma is the Islamic Messiah who will change the world. According to the Koran, he's the one who will bring on Armageddon. O'Reilly just showed the clip.

Sheesh! Aren't they missing the biggest story of the day here?

Correct, no laws broken and he was not fired but resigned - didn't accept the other job offered. They have nothing and this is why the AP story is short on “report” info. Wonder if this is from a “leak” or actual report. This is why Fox News said the Dems will be so upset with the findings. Nothing there.

The fact that the panel is issuing this now is a sign that we’ve already won on this issue. A few weeks ago the head investigator was saying this report would be an October surprise. Well, it may be October, but nobody’s surprised. If they thought they ould damage Palin more than themselves by releasing it later, they’d drop it on the Monday or Thursday prior to the election.

As i said she needs to do a press conf immediately and explain the whole thing

Why? There is no story. She has the right to fire him for sneezing if she wants to. He's not an elected official. So, can the bum. Who cares?

“The investigative report concludes that a family grudge wasn’t the sole reason for firing Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan”

In other words she had reason! The media is the one that made it the ‘sole reason’....I hate the media.

CBS went on for half an hour about the ‘nastiness’ of the McCain campaign this week.....But what they’ve done for 6 weeks solid to Palin is not nasty?

Yeah. Sara should use it to her advantage. Play the "insulted" victim! Make the investigators the agitators.
