Branchflower Report Released: Palin was within her rights to fire Monegan
The headline that will be screamed from the rooftops everywhere is Branchflower's claim that Palin "abused her power."
But he also admits she was within her right to can Monegan.
I've skimmed through much of it and the basic conclusion is that Todd Palin was trying to exert pressure to get Wooten fired, and Palin should have stopped him from doing this. She herself is not accused of doing anything.
Pretty thin gruel.
But of course, the media will have an orgy with this.

Nothing more than a political hatchet report because some people got their feelings hurt. Who cares? Sarah is an honest and refreshing person who would be a great V.P. and an asset to John McCain.
she did nothing wrong....can’t you read?....
It could be used to impeach. It’s all pretty simple where it goes from here. This is the big takedown....the October surprise.
and we’ve taken a vote and we fully admit that you are something of an idiot....
Read this part:
The legislature reaffirms that each public officer holds office as a public trust, and any effort to benefit a personal or financial interest through official action is a violation of that trust.
This is the start of the impeachment. Doesn’t matter if no law has been broken....it’s all show anyways.
I do know - the guy who led this panel promised an "October Surprise" even before the investigation began.
This is very strange, the same exact report with two completely different headlines!
Just heard a Fox News radio blurb saying that the “ethics report” was a “blow” to Palin and that she fired the Service Direcotr because of a family dispute, not a budget one.
So of course I came straight here to find out the FACTS.
she did NOTHING wrong....NOTHING wrong....NO LAWS BROKEN....jerk
The magic negro thanks you for your support.
SAW IT ON FOX, “abused her power”
Sure O.K. but I’m just pointing out what I’d do next...it’s pretty obvious. Look for Frank Rich and the gang at the NYT calling for this Sunday. Watch the Alaskan media following suit.
If I’m wrong I’ll wear the idiot sign LOL....if I’m right ...well fairs fair
Try reading the report before you run and hide...
II Findings
Finding Number One
October 10, 2008
Vol. One - Public Report
For the reasons explained in section IV of this report, I find that Governor Sarah
Palin abused her power by violating Alaska Statute 39.52.11O(a) of the Alaska Executive
Branch Ethics Act. Alaska Statute 39.52.11O(a) provides
The legislature reaffirms that each public officer holds office as a
public trust, and any effort to benefit a personal or financial interest
through official action is a violation of that trust.
Finding Number Two
I find that, although Walt Monegans refusal to fire Trooper Michael Wooten was
not the sole reason he was fired by Governor Sarah Palin, it was likely a contributing
factor to his termination as Commissioner of Public Safety. In spite of that, Governor
Palins firing of Commissioner Monegan was a proper and lawful exercise of her
constitutional and statutory authority to hire and fire executive branch department heads.
Finding Number Three
Harbor Adjustment Service of Anchorage, and its owner Ms. Murleen Wilkes,
handled Trooper Michael Wootens workers compensation claim properly and in the
normal course of business like any other claim processed by Harbor Adjustment Service
and Ms. Wilkes. Further, Trooper Wooten received all the workers compensation
benefits to which he was entitled.
Finding Number Four
The Attorney Generals office has failed to substantially comply with my August 6,
2008 written request to Governor Sarah Palin for information about the case in the
form of emails.
Muslim sleeper.
I agree re JNL.
Look again...I’m just reading the next step in the pretty transparent Democratic playbook. Don’t shoot the messenger.
If I’m wrong I’ll admit it. Somehow I just see it coming.
And here I thought one had to actually break the law to be impeached. Silly me...guess we should all defer to your legal expertise. I swear you people are just popping out of the woodwork today.
Cindie
The wording of the finding by a partisan investigator (likely a contributing factor) is less than convincing; more of a wish than a supportable conclusion.
In spite of that, Governor Palins firing of Commissioner Monegan was a proper and lawful exercise of her constitutional and statutory authority to hire and fire executive branch department heads.
These are the money words and coming from the partisan investigators show that there is no smoke let alone fire there.
O.K. sure. I guess the idea of seeing what’s coming is a bad thing. If we are not prepared well...
No. You are just “pointing out” what you HOPE HAPPENS.
