i just saw “abused her power”
on the bbc.
Screw the MSM and the DNC, Sarah Palin is viewed as Favorable by a vast majority of the people.
Somebody should be FIRED... suited.. or taken for a “ride”..
Amazing!
Steyn was cleared? Link? great news
I think it’s pretty clear she screwed up royally.
Sigh
Oh well friday night news dump one hopes.
just more of the same that we have seen since her nomination.....
The MSM is also playing this up as a finding of the legislature. They only voted to release the report.
CNN reporting she abused her power but broke no law...
?? Whatever.
II Findings
Finding Number One
October 10, 2008
Vol. One - Public Report
For the reasons explained in section IV of this report, I find that Governor Sarah
Palin abused her power by violating Alaska Statute 39.52.11O(a) of the Alaska Executive
Branch Ethics Act. Alaska Statute 39.52.11O(a) provides
“The legislature reaffirms that each public officer holds office as a
public trust, and any effort to benefit a personal or financial interest
through official action is a violation of that trust.”
Finding Number Two
I find that, although Walt Monegan’s refusal to fire Trooper Michael Wooten was
not the sole reason he was fired by Governor Sarah Palin, it was likely a contributing
factor to his termination as Commissioner of Public Safety. In spite of that, Governor
Palin’s firing of Commissioner Monegan was a proper and lawful exercise of her
constitutional and statutory authority to hire and fire executive branch department heads.
Finding Number Three
Harbor Adjustment Service of Anchorage, and its owner Ms. Murleen Wilkes,
handled Trooper Michael Wooten’s workers’ compensation claim properly and in the
normal course of business like any other claim processed by Harbor Adjustment Service
and Ms. Wilkes. Further, Trooper Wooten received all the workers’ compensation
benefits to which he was entitled.
Finding Number Four
The Attorney General’s office has failed to substantially comply with my August 6,
2008 written request to Governor Sarah Palin for information about the case in the
form of emails.
MSNBC is doing a breaking news segment on it now blasting her of course.
The initial title from the press release said she abused her power. No reporter actually read the decision. they just ran with it.
Notice all the “I find” language? Yet the media is reporting this as the legislature’s finding.
Um how can you abuse power if you break no law? Isnt abuse of power defined by the law?
What do you mean. Sure we can all sit here and say it means nothing.
However in the world at large they see abuse of power as the headline. All Obama has to remind people is that the panel was staffed by a majority of “republicans”.
As for Sarah...well she screwed up to let it go this far. A ton of this is payback for trying to shut it down. I’m not saying the outcome would have been different but.....I don’t know.
Then again I freely admit I’m not a Palin fan.
