I agree totally with you.
See my post 74..

McCain is not ‘bucking under to the MSM” but appealing to the swing voters. those voters do NOT want the candidate to go with the “negative “ anger. Yet, the comments about Obama ‘got out”, were not said by Mccain, and Mcain comes off as a ‘decent candidate and reasonable”.

so, here’s what happened, the negatives about Obama get airplay, put doubts in the minds of swing voters...yet McCain comes off more presidential.

to those who are freaking out..what should he have done? Yelled,” right, Obama is a damnnnn terrorist!” and then done the Dean Scream?

Exactly. And then some nutcase (of which there are some) goes and does something really horrible and McCain and his supporters get blamed for it.

(Also, regardless, I do not wish for anything “really horrible” to either one of the nominees. America is better than that.)

I can’t believe people would be so quick to help Obambi get elected over something such as this. Or that they would make the volunteers watching the email put up with this kind of garbage reaction when there is so much more important work to do.

So McCain called for civil discourse? That’s a bad thing?

OF COURSE....NO CIVIL DISCOURSE!!!( IF YOU ARE IN PAJAMAS having the townhall meeting and answering the questions in your own mind and on the computer.!)

These are the same posters who go on and on and on and on about the Reagen Years!

NEWSFLASH: Reagen is dead.

If Reagen came back from the dead..these same posters would be screaming:”he’s too calm, he’s not angry enough, he’s old, he’s not conservative enough!”

One question would Reagan have gotten all vitriolic and angry at this point in the campaign. McCain’s puzzling statements I will chalk up to mouth diarrhea. Let’s not overreact here and get off our game. Just calling Obama a scum bag for 4 weeks won’t win us the election. It has to be a slow methodical plan to grind him down on policy, personality and personal conduct. I get the spirit of what McCain was saying but like that balloon coming out of his mouth I’ll bet he wanted to reach right up and take it back. I see more Ayers and Fannie stories floating around the MSM and I think they even think it maybe fun to bring the Messiah down ala Brittany Spears style.

Shut up, You aren’t helping. I have been on board since McCain picked Palin.

And no,I am not crazy for McCain for good reason, but I have supported him anyway. Face it, he is a bad candidate...but I will vote for him in spite of the fact that he doesn’t seem to want to win.

How’s that skippy?

I wasn't there at the event. I only see what the MSM packages for me to see, which I suspect was intended to demoralize.

I choose not to be demoralized. I will still gladly vote for McCain/Palin.

An angry McCain plays right into the media’s hands. Let bambi get angry. And I think we’ll see it soon.

If you finally intend to vote against Obambi, I'll give you that.

Did you know that polls consistently show that more conservatives are voting for Obambi than liberals are voting for McCain?

Do you know who those "conservatives" are who are willing to help hand the election to Obambi?

Yep, they are the same types we see around here who took a hundred years to somehow get informed and motivated enough to vote against The One and who even now remain fairweather friends of the only man who can defeat him on our behalf, wailing about that man, McCain, at every "tick" in the political market.

Yep, they are the same types we see around here who wanted to "send a message to the RNC," "make them pay," "put the disaster on Obambi's watch," "show them how mad I am," "get the destruction of the country over with," and so on ad nauseum.

He makes a comment that obviously was intended as a nod toward civil and responsible public discourse and these are the types who fall on the ground writhing in anger and shouting that "I'll never vote for him!"

Reminding people of how lethal these types of "conservatives" are to our overarching cause on Election Day is a matter of eternal vigilance. In my judgment, pushing back at such dangerous nonsense is, in fact, very helpful. But suit yourself.

Your reasonableness is refreshing.

I agree that McCain probably wished he’d chosen a word other than “decent,” but reasonable people interpret his remarks in light of the entirety of the views he and his campaign have expressed—and will continue to express— on Obambi’s character.

I also agree that this is a slow, methodical process-—otherwise, the attacks, even though they are supremely founded in fact, won’t stick.

Every time you hand the MSM a dumb story to go with-—such as this one, McCain supporters are racist, whatever-—you WASTE a candidate’s time and money and, more so, precious political capital.

Then the MSM surfs on over here to check out the Extreme Pitchfork Crowd and, before long, our guy’s message is totally lost in a MSM-created and amplified macacaland.

I can understand being disappointed at ways various things are handled, but to pitch a total hissy fit on the worldwide web and stir up the snoozers who took forever to realize how dangerous Obambi is to our nation anyway . . . that’s beyond the pale at this point in the campaign.

These are the same types who supposedly know the danger Obambi poses to our nation, but who STILL can barely bring themselves to vote AGAINST HIM.

And who, consequently, seem to spend every waking minute wailing about the only way we can defeat Obambi, that is, by voting for McCain.

You may not like your team’s quarterback, but you’re pretty damn stupid to try to tackle him to the ground on every play he tries to run for your team.

McCain is not ‘bucking under to the MSM” but appealing to the swing voters.

More than that, McCain is doing the right thing. It is right to control his message and it is right to attempt to keep *public* discourse civil, within reason, and factually accurate.

Do I wish he'd responded with a little different nuance? Sure.

Do I realize this was one answer among millions and millions of words McCain and Palin have spoken and will speak about Obambi and his character? Yes.

But that in no way justifies anyone who has a brain in to impinge McCain's character or courage, or to forget who we are fighting against here.

Hint: Obambi, not McCain.

With all due respect, I think it is attitudes such as you’ve expressed that are holding back Palin’s career.

Do you think she will pass the Extreme Pitchfork Crowd’s multiple tests when the time comes?

Nope. She won’t be “conservative” enough. All the things being wailed about the Republicans now will be applied to her when the time comes.

How do I know this?

Show me one candidate who was perfect enough for these people. And don’t say Reagan. He would have been pilloried by these same people.

Reagen WAS pilloried by the same people. ha. I commend your valiant attempts to “heard cats” on Freeper!

These drama queens are as immature as the ones on Daily Kos. They do not take in the whole reality of governance nor the enormous impact of the MSM and govt schools for over FORTY YEARS.

I too am upset over the course this nation has taken, “Toto, we’re not in Kansas anymore”. The train left sometime in the 1930’s and then got rolling in the sixties. We are fighting a fifth column of leftists and they have the education system, the schools, the MSM and entitlements on their side.

To get the swing voters ( and shockingly to these Pitchfork
Drama Queens ..THAT IS ALL THAT COUNTS NOW ) McCain’s message has to at least get heard to those who have had EIGHT YEARS of MSM brainwashing. And a baseball bat approach won’t work.

Here is my email:

“Fight With Me”

That is what you told us John at the end of your acceptance speech. We all got fired up for you. We were excited and looking forward to going to the polls to vote for you.

What happened to your inner spark John? You had so many opportunities in the last few weeks to share your emotion with the rest of the country, but you haven’t. If you don’t show that inner drive that came out at the end of your speech, you will not inspire Americans to vote for you.

This country is tired of the same old Washington. We need a champion to fight for us in Washington. But, you can’t just “tell” us you’re our champion. You have to SHOW us you are that Champion.

You need to let your inner passion out so that Americans have something to believe in again. Show us that we WANT to vote FOR you, and not just AGAINST Obama.

Please John, do this for our Country.
