A shake of his head, a frown, and subsequent ignoring of such things coming from the crowd would have denied the media their sound bite. Instead, McCain opts to send his base into fits and paint his supporters as crazy and/or ignorant.

Undoubtedly some folks at every rally are there to foment trouble for the given campaign. The media is there to capture it so as to better flesh out their propaganda (plus controversy sells, no matter its legitimacy).

Also, regardless of what he says *now*, the seeds of fear and doubt have already been planted and will bear fruit.

The only thing McCain has done right during this campaign is choosing Palin as his running mate. Aside from that he has been a complete fool.

He should have been blasting Hussein on Ayers AND Reverend Wright before the conventions as a means to define Hussein to the electorate. Politics 101 (this is basic stuff) dictates that you define your opponent early on. When we should have been hearing ads regarding Hussein’s associations and left wing background, we were hearing about Paris Hilton.

Now in the middle of this economic mess and behind in the race, McCain is forced to talk about Ayers in an attempt to define Hussein for voters, not something you should have to be doing in the final three weeks.

When the housing mess first broke loose with the bank failures, McCain should have IMMEDIATELY tied it to democrats using their corruption on Fannie & Freddie(as Rush did at the time). Instead we heard about how Wall Street and the free market was at fault.

I’ll still vote for him, but his has been the worst presidential campaign I’ve ever seen, and it’s McCain’s fault. He was, and probably still is naive about what he’s been running against, and lacks the will to attack it the way he needs to.

I’ve been arguing this point for weeks — that McCain is an ignorant old socialist who does not deserve to be POTUS.

Yet, when it’s proven, people call me a TROLL, a plant, a moron, and lots of other lovely names.

Stand up for Conservatism people, dammit!

It is called good politics. It is what Obama does - let others do the dirty work while looking “above it all” to the Sheeple.

He had to shut up the MSM-created-storm a little. other hits are coming... There’s just waaayyy too much dirt on Barry. I think they’re in it to win it - which would explain my coffee-induced ulcer.

Oh for Pete’s sake. He was trying to calm the crowd. So what? I think we have a bunch of Obamacoms here would rather suffer under an Obama dictatorship. He is a Marxist and some here will get a good dose of what it was like to live in the former Soviet Union as many of us get sent to the gulags or reeducation camps to be reprogrammed.

Tells one supporter who says he’s scared of an Obama presidency: “I have to tell you, he is a decent person, a person that you do not have to be scared [of] as president of the United States.”

Has anyone ever seen McCain and Bob Dole together? I swear this is Bob Dole in a John McCain costume.

McCain is NOT a conservative. He's really a moderate liberal. Either live with it or stay home next month.

Well McCain could come out and say, “Hey, there’s enough bad stuff surrounding Obama that I don’t need to personally attack him, and then proceed to launch into a load of it.” McCain should appear above it and he should be able to trust the GOPers to understand his position. I intend to be as mad as I am and be honest about it. What McCain said won’t change how I act or think or talk. He can pretend to be a statesman all he wants. I am not a statesman. I want my country back from the commie media and the thugs running the Congress.

Where the Sam H#ll is George Bush?!!!!

The consolation prize is that the thoroughly repugnant McCain will be history. Rather than making history. The price we will pay is our country.

I’m voting for Palin, not McCain, and I suspect many others are doing the same. We all know Juan is a bipartisan type of guy, aka RINO. He’s not going to change, and anyone who thinks otherwise is going to be sorely disappointed.

Remember. People are defined by the company they keep. Obama has his Ayers, Rezko, and Wright (pretty nasty stuff). With McCain, however, it’s Lindsay Graham and Lieberman. If that’s not enough evidence for the McCain fans to sober up about their RINO leader, I don’t know what is.

If this was a 3rd person shooter, voting for McCain is like going into battle with a knife and 10% health, voting for 3rd party is like hiding while your friends are gunned down, and voting for Obama is like a suicide run with eyes closed.
