Palin rally in Virginia moved to NASCAR track
CNN ^

(CNN) – Hockey Moms might be the hot political demographic of the moment, but NASACAR Dads haven't been forgotten.

The McCain campaign is moving Sarah Palin's Monday appearance from the Arthur Ashe Center in downtown Richmond, Virginia — capacity 6,000 — to a much larger outdoor venue: the Richmond International Raceway, which hosts two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races yearly and can accommodate over 100,000 people.

The campaign doesn't expect to fill all those seats, but McCain's mid-Atlantic regional director Trey Walker said the demand for Palin tickets has nearly quadrupled the capacity of the original event site, the Arthur Ashe Center in downtown Richmond.

wouldn’t it be great if the already projected 25,000 each brought with them 3 friends or family members to fill the place to capacity.

wish I could be there Bump!

455 miles... 7.5 hours & an old high mileage van (with an attitude) are problems!

Fill it up if you can get there & have a ball.. I am going to make a bet that if they are not racing elsewhere that day, she will have a few of the favorite drivers up on stage ... or center field.. with her!

Those sound great. Got to winterize here today... 38 right now and snow forecast for later (winter storm warning). Time to drain and store the garden hoses, and drain the cooler. Got the vehicles serviced yesterday, and fired up the furnace. Racin tonight!

Wonder what kind of flyover they’ll have for the Palin event...

Wonder what effect the Governor's visit had on the polls?

Look at this internal tidbit from today's SurveyUSA poll:
October 6 SurveyUSA Central Virginia : 52% Obama, 44% McCain
October 13 Sarah Palin comes to Central Virginia...
October 20 SurveyUSA Central Virginia 58% McCain, 47% Obama

McCain rose from 44% to 58%, and Obama dropped from 52% to 47% (MOE 7.5%).

Astounding!
