I was looking at some of the threads on a PUMA thread and found this one. Some interesting comments re Obama's mother. While ACORN, Ayers, Odinga, Wright, etc. are more important, this could potentially be just be another case of 0bama's perhaps being less than truthful. I also think that if it had been McCain or Palin and one of their parents or parents-in-law, it would have been all over the news about how uncaring they were to their parent.
The above was the initial post. Here are some points made in the thread:
1. It appears she developed cancer in 1994 while in Indonesia (it was mis-diagnosed)and then moved to Hawaii she died in 1995. Did she try to get insurance after the cancer developed and that's why she was having problems?
2. It looks like she was examined at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, recieved chemo and then was moved to Straub Clinic in Hawaii.
3. He said she was on food stamps. If that's true, would she have had or tried to obtain insurance, or, would she have been on Medicaid?
4. He said she was 53 when she tied, but, according to Wikipedia, she died when she was 52.
5. If she was in fact having issues w insurance while she was dying, why didn't he, a Harvard Law graduate try to assist her, instead of letting her deal w it - - most sons/daughters would have stepped in to help.
There's a link to a long Time/CNN article from April re 0bambi and his mother on one of the posts: http://www.time.com/time/nation/arti...9524-5,00.html

Yes, and his mother was just a typical white person.

honestly at this point...who knows what to believe about this person's background.
I hate to sound all conspiracy theory...but many of the things he says dont add up.

It appears he had as much concern for his mother as he does for his $1 a month brother.

All good questions, but the American people have closed minds, and nothing matters because they want Oprah’s Obama to “lead” and “change” them.

3. He said she was on food stamps. If that's true, would she have had or tried to obtain insurance, or, would she have been on Medicaid? She was supposedly on food stamps while a graduate student in Hawaii. I find that hard to believe given the fact that her mother and father could have easily provided her with food. His mother certainly had no problem with sending 10 year old Obama back to Hawaii to be raised by her mother and father. This sounds like another lie.

Is it just me or does it seem people are very confused about the difference between health and health care? I honestly believe our desire to “live forever” has affected our thinking about health care.

Where was Obama at this time? There are so many questions about this man.
He should have been with her. And there was no way she could have obtained insurance after she had cancer.
I looked after my mother when she was dying of cancer and dealt with the hospital/treatment payments and so did my sister. One or the other of us was always with her.
And so where was he? Was this the time when he went to Pakistan? It is amazing that the MSM totally ignores all these questions. I am just astounded.
Even for them this is unprecedented.

And I don’t remember him bringing this up before the debate. If it were true, you’d think he would have been touting this all during his campaign.

ZeroBama has mentioned this before, during debates with Hillary over health care.

0bomba: "I came from very modest means. I had a single mom and my grandparents raised me and it was because of the help of scholarships and my grandmother scrimping on things that she might have wanted to purchase and my mom, at one point, getting food stamps in order for us to put food on the table."
His grandfather was very well to do. He did not die until 1992. So why was his grandmother scrimping?
The only time that 0bomba lived with his mother, was in Indonesia. Was his mother really getting food stamps when she was living in Indonesia?

Thanks for posting this. It has been bothering me for months. As someone who has taken care of both parents’ medical appointments as well as their insurance issues, I can't help but scream at the television when Obama goes on this rant. Where the hell was he??????? Who lets there dying or ill parent fight with insurance companies? He either has a heart of stone or he's lying. For his mother's sake, I hope it's the latter! For the sake of the country, neither option is good!

Good work, it does seem to be yet another thing that doesn’t add up right.
My reaction when he mentioned this was to recall how Newt was trashed over things that happened when his first wife died. At the very least, it seems that Obama could have been a little more compassionate and helpful.

My thoughts exactly. He’s a cad. Why didn’t he get a real job and help his mother with the bills, and why did the great lawyer not take on the responsibility of speaking with the insurance company himself?

Hawaii had universal health care in 1995. What was her status under that plan. Was she a resident of Hawaii.
She may have been fighting with the Hawaii Health Care System.
