Read the details of the polls.

The Washington Post poll which had McCain down by 9% nationally had sampled 52% Dem and 38% GOP.

So with a 14 point headstart, Obama is only 9% up.

Problem is, all the pollsters agree that the Democratic turnout will by far surpass the GOP turnout.
