Safeway Grocery Stores - Obama buttons (Vanity)
Vanity ^ | October 9, 2008 | wac3rd

Posted on 10/09/2008 4:12:37 PM PDT by wac3rd

I was coming through the grocery line today when I encountered a female, middle-aged African American cashier sporting three (3) Obama political buttons on her smock.

I paid for my items and promptly called Safeway's Pleasanton, CA headquarters and asked for the Public Relations office where I spoke to the Director.

I asked her if Safeway, Inc. was officially endorsing Barack Obama as one of their cashiers clearly was showing political partisanship in the workplace.

She said, "No, we have a strict dress code of no athletic, political or religious insignia". She asked for the store address and assured me that the manager would remove her political buttons.

She apologized and said she would take care of it immediately.

I thanked her and hung up.

I know I am deep in the belly of the Communist beast, especially here in the Bay Area, but I felt better at least showing the company that I was not happy with an Obama endorsement while I was shopping at their store, in fact, it made me want to not shop there.

I worked the polls in 2006 as a Republican Judge. It was a nightmare. The Dem poll workers said the most vile things about Bush/Chaney to the voters and were allowed to get away with it because “neither was on the ballot”. Voter fraud was rampant. When I saw someone actually voting twice (under different names), the so-called “specialist” told me that he would let him vote and it “would be sorted out later”. his stock answer for every one of my protests. This was in St. Louis, so I urge a high rural vote to offset ACORN and Grass Roots fraud, both here and in KC.

Hatch Act http://www.osc.gov/hatchact.htm She cannot wear any political buttons in the federal work place.

Also, if you get unstamped mail in your mailbox, notify the post office. It is against federal law to put unposted notices or mail in a mail box.

they don't say "English on the reverse side" on the Spanish side.

Now THAT would be a fun thing to complain about!

I’m not going to be intimidated out of my right to free speech at any cost. I’ve got signs in my yard, and a magnet bumper sticker on my car(magnet so that I can remove it after the election, not for right now-I generally hate bumper stickers). I feel the left is counting on that, and I’m not giving it to them. I’m not caving to protect my property.

Wegman’s just moved to SE PA and MD. Both stores are nice but too far to use regularly.

Wegman’s food court in Warrington, PA has become a hangout for the HS kids.

You HAVE to be kidding me!

“John Lennon was the greatest musician ever.”

“Yoko Ono is the greatest reason for high capacity magazines ever.”

No you dint!? Buhahahahahahaha!

There’s a FReeper who used the tagline: “X-number shots fired, yet none hit Yoko. Discuss.”

It’s 30 days unpaid leave or termination (by choice of manager) for violation of the Hatch Act.

Way to go. But I also would have gone to the store manager and told him/her that I would never shop there again as long as cashiers persisted in wearing Obamanation buttons.

My reply? “Yoko Ono is the greatest reason for high capacity magazines ever.”

You need to help McCain debate.

If I had done what the original poster says he/she had done, I’d be too ashamed to tell anyone about it.

Well, of course you would! Your liberal-democrat friends would be shocked and appalled had YOU complained about a BHO supporter.

I was joking.

It was supposed to be a play on what Obama told his supporters.

Sorry if you didn’t get it. My fault, I guess. Lame joke and all that.
