Obama Buys Half-Hour Of CBS Primetime NEW YORK (CBS) ― Democratic candidate Barack Obama has purchased 30 minutes of CBS primetime air, according to a network announcement to affiliates.
The paid political message is scheduled to air at 8 p.m. ET on Oct. 29, the Wednesday before Election Day.
The last time a presidential candidate bought such a large portion of network time was in 1992, when Ross Perot purchased network time.

If he does this, isn’t CBS required to give McCain equal time? No. It's purchased time, just like a commercial.
What they ARE required to do is have the same advertising rate for each candidate.
