McCain Goes There
Weekly Standard ^ | 10/9/2008

Posted on 10/09/2008 11:42:08 AM PDT by markomalley

Waukesha, Wisconsin -- In response to a broad question about how Barack Obama "got here" -- presumably got his lead -- John McCain didn't name Bill Ayers but spoke of him directly. McCain said "We don't care about an old washed up terrorist and his wife" who said earlier this decade that he wished they were more successful. (Several in the crowd chanted: "Yes we do!")

McCain noted that Obama had referred to Ayers as "just a guy in his neighborhood," and said "we know that's not true. We need to know the full extent of that relationship to know whether he's telling the truth to the American public."

Sarah Palin, following up, took a shot at the media. "Mainstream media isn't already asking all these questions, you guys have to help us....When will the questions be asked and when will we get answers?!"

UPDATE: The next question came from a black McCain supporter, who reminded McCain of the candidate's plea at the convention for his supporters to do everything possible to ensure a victory. The supporter said: "I doubt that anyone has taken, pardon me, the ass-whoopin' I have taken for doing that." He then implored McCain to go after Barack Obama at the next debate and asked him to raise ACORN and Reverend Wright. "I am begging you, sir," he said, as the crowd stood and applauded.

"Yes, I'll do that," McCain responded, before promising to offer "a positive plan for America's economy."

Why Won’t Obama Talk About Columbia?
The years he won’t discuss may explain the Ayers tie he keeps lying about.

If it is a must see, where is the video? Why doesn't the GOP have a website with video of all of Sarah Palin's campaign rallies?

Were I able to talk to McCain I would say “Senator, if you want to be the President of this country, stand up and start fighting. If you don’t, get out of our way and quit. The same goes for your VP. She’s a beautiful lady, she’s smart, she’s funny. Get past all this stuff and stand up and start fighting for us. We will get behind you if you want us. If you don’t ......let someone else do it.”

Haven’t we seen these one day spurts out of McCain then back to status quo? He can’t sustain the banter because its not his style. He cruised for a couple of weeks on Palin’s sails now time to exhibit passion to the finish.

If McCain is to have any chance of winning he needs to hit the Ayers angle hard.

He also needs to push the Odinga story. To me, that is by far the most outrageous of all the associations Obama has had.

It consists of Obambi violating the Logan Act by supporting a radical Islamist who has strong anti-US, pro-Islam policies. The American people can understand that scandal and it will make a difference to many of them.

Odinga, and Ayres vist to Venezuela to teach revolution against capitalism needs to stay out there. Odinga is just scary stuff that 1% of America knows about.

Well, you’re not suggesting that Palin hasn’t been fighting, are you? Because, whatever McC’s been doing, she surely has.

Will McCain listen?

I was slightly annoyed when Greta asked Sarah last night about Reverend Wright and she couldn’t answer by order of John McCain. You could tell she was pulling at the chain but decided at the last moment that she would follow directions and pass on the question.

Doggone it, does McCain understand that we’re going to drag his sorry butt to the White House?

We’re pumped and ready and we’re not going down without a fight.

Oh, that? That’s on “delayed discovery”.

He’s a naturally born citizen of the USA, of course, but we just don’t have the time to produce an official birth certificate. That’ll have to wait until after the election.
