Cindy McCain has accused her husband's presidential rival of putting at risk the life of her son who fought in Iraq by not supporting a troop funding bill.
Barack Obama, the Democratic candidate, had voted against the bill in the senate last year, but later supported a version of the legislation that included a timetable to withdraw troops from the Middle Eastern state.
Until recently Mrs McCain and her husband, the Republican presidential candidate John McCain, have refused to discuss their two sons serving in the US military.
However, all that changed at a rally on Wednesday night in the swing state of Pennsylvania.
"The day that Sen Obama decided to cast a vote to not fund my son when he was serving sent a cold chill through my body," she said. "I would suggest that Sen Obama change shoes with me for just one day and see what it means
to have a loved one serving in the armed forces and more importantly, serving in harm's way."

About time someone points that out. The pro-Saddamites (soros, obama, drubin, etc) need to be held accountable for their actions.
Maybe the media will take up this issue.
Actually .... she's not quite accurate about saying he was in harm's way.... ;-)
No, wait ... before you flame, here's the rest of the story.
I actually know a Marine who serves in young McCain's unit, and it transpires their tour in Iraq was apparently very uneventful. The surge, you see, had borne fruit by then (last summer). The only "combat" they saw was a couple of yutzes who decided that they could get their CIBs by faking an attack on their own guard post.... They got caught, of course: it turns out that the other Marines were able to tell the difference between the sound of an M16 and an AK47.
Anyway, those particular Marines were rather bored in Iraq.
