Bill Ayers On How To Educate Good Little Progressive Commies

Via The Corner:

Reader John Rylanders points Cornerites to this very interesting October 2006 interview of Bill Ayers in Revolution (the self-styled "Voice of the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA")....

Ayerssucks.jpg

...That’s one of the things that’s actually annoyed me for about 40 years of being a progressive educator: the separation of the concept of progressive education from the concept of politics and political change. You can’t separate them.

Remember, Ayers is an education activist, who pushes for progressive programs in public elementary schools in Illinios. He praised the communist dictator Hugo Chaves' education programs in Venezuela. He talked about the literacy rate there improving. But Ayers also wants to integrate his political ideology into education.

What ideology is that? Well just look at when he uses the word "we" it gives away who Bill Ayers thinks of as those like him.

we as revolutionaries

we as socialists or as communists or as leftists

So Ayers feels a kinship with revolutionaries, socialists, communists, and leftists.

This is the same man who saw Barrack Obama as fit to head his education initiatives.

Also from the article:

In Your Face

Acorn’s tactics are famously “in your face.” Just think of Code Pink’s well-known operations (threatening to occupy congressional offices, interrupting the testimony of General David Petraeus) and you’ll get the idea.

Acorn protesters have disrupted Federal Reserve hearings, but mostly deploy their aggressive tactics locally. Chicago is home to one of its strongest chapters, and Acorn has burst into a closed city council meeting there.

Acorn protestors in Baltimore disrupted a bankers’ dinner and sent four busloads of profanity-screaming protestors against the mayor’s home, terrifying his wife and kids.

"Yet because Acorn works locally, in carefully selected urban areas, its national profile is lower. Acorn likes it that way. And so, I’d wager, does Barack Obama."
The serpent is a subtle beast.

I have waxed both seriously and clownishly on this site about Barack Obama’s “Cotton Candy Candidacy” and the fact that his nebulously formed ideas make him something of an empty suit when it comes to trying to figure out where he stands on many issues.

I have also pointed out that this is deliberate obfuscation on his part, done in order to hide his liberal past. Indeed, there is no candidate in recent memory who has taken such pains to see that his political philosophy remains a cipher – a razor thin record in the Illinois Senate along with almost as invisible US Senate votes are carefully hidden away in the campaign’s attic, gone and mostly forgotten in the rush to proclaim the candidate The Agent of Change.

A slippery fish, this fellow Obama. Controversial votes when he was a state senator were avoided by voting “present” or claiming later that he erred by pressing the wrong button and didn’t really mean to take that position. Seen in the context of the “Great Game” the left plays with the American people in trying to mask their liberalism for fear of rejection by the voter, Obama, it turns out, is a master of “post partisan problem solving” – hiding his liberalism under an avalanche of platitudes and feel-good bromides that have his supporters swooning and the media eating out of his hand.

But the closet Obama may be in the process of being revealed. This is the Obama that voted to make a criminal out of a homeowner who was forced to use a gun in his own defense in his own home. This is the Obama that voted against making it a criminal offense for convicts on probation or on bail to have contact with a street gang. Indeed, Obama’s record on anti-gang legislation is simple; because gang members are more often people of color, they shouldn’t be singled out for increased attention or special penalties by the law.

But beyond his clearly liberal voting record in the state senate and his being named the most liberal senator in the US Senate by National Journal there is an issue just starting to bubble and froth below the media radar that may or may not become a huge issue depending on how protective the national media wants to be of Obama.

I am talking about the extent of the candidate’s ties to domestic terrorists from the 1960’s and how the American people might feel about their future president paling around with someone who set off bombs as a member of the group Weather Underground and to this day refuses to apologize for it. William Ayers told his followers back then:

Stanley Kurtz' Latest Research Into Barack Obama's Connections To Terrorist Bill Ayers...

*****************EXCERPT Intro*************************

Hugh Hewitt ^ | 10/7/08 | Hugh Hewitt

Posted on Mon 06 Oct 2008 11:10:41 PM PDT by Unam Sanctam

From Hugh's interview on Monday's Hugh Hewitt Show.

HH: I’m pleased to welcome from Nationalreview.com, the American Enterprise Institute, it is Stanley Kurtz, the man who knows more about the Ayers-Obama connection than anyone. Stanley, welcome back to the program.

SK: Hugh, thanks for having me.

HH: Stanley Kurtz, let’s start with the basics. All of a sudden, Ayers is an issue. What is the relationship between Bill Ayers and Barack Obama? Can you give us some details?

SK: Well, Hugh, I think they had a genuine political partnership. As far as we know for certain, it began in about early 1995 when Barack Obama became the chairman of the board of a small education foundation, not too small, because it had ultimately more than $100 million dollars to dispense. But Barack Obama became chairman of the board of something called the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, a foundation that was essentially founded by Bill Ayers. Now this foundation had two operating bodies, the board, which Obama chaired, and something called the collaborative, which Bill Ayers chaired. And so the two were effectively working together at this foundation, and what’s more, the foundation was giving a lot of money to Bill Ayers’ personal education projects, and the projects of his allies. And as, since the board was in charge of giving out that money, Obama effectively was funding Bill Ayers’ very radical education projects for years on end.

HH: Now I want to play for you a little clip of David Axelrod from CNN this morning, and one by Robert Gibbs on CNN, talking about this relationship. Let’s play David Axelrod first, cut number five.

Little by little we are seeing some part of the L/MSM at least show pictures from adds etc., linking the anointed one with radical terrorist and social engineering organizations.
Perhaps more folks will in the next couple weeks realize they had not take a risk on voting for the demorats this time around.
McCain should make a point to counter attack Obama's statement that McCain is willing to consider bailing out the home owners , by making it clear the home owners at risk are the result of Obama's side, such as ACORN. Two can play such games.
