On this day in 1967, Che Guevara, the Argentine communist, was executed by the Bolivian Army. He and his pals had invaded Bolivia a few days earlier in hope of establishing a communist dictatorship. [At left, an Obama campaign office in Texas proudly displays an icon of Che Guevara on the Cuban flag.]
While working for Fidel Castro, Che Guevara had ordered the execution of nearly two thousand anti-communists. He boasted that he had shot dozens of prisoners with his favorite pistol.

Pity they could only shoot the sunovabeeesh once.
From what I understand about Bolivia, they'd welcome him with open arms today.
Flipping channels, I entered a Richard Gere movie as the lady was entering some type of open area while RG was talking to a crowd. He was (his character) telling the crowd how Che was a great doctor and inspiration. Nothing about killing thousands ...
KRISTINN, FREEREPUBLIC.COM: We have kids that wear Che Guevara shirts here in the United States.
MATTHEWS: Yes, but they're kind of cute at this point, aren't they? They're not about somebody out to get us now. I think there's a difference. I mean, that's kind of camp almost, isn't it?...is Che Guevara the symbol of hate in the United States anymore?
KRISTINN: Yes.
MATTHEWS: I don't think so. I mean, a lot of our kids wear them. I see kids wearing them all the time, even my kids wear them. It's like a Robert Marley T-shirt at this point.

Matthews: Obama Speech Caused 'Thrill Going Up My Leg'
"During MSNBC's live coverage of Tuesday's presidential primary elections, after the speeches of Barack Obama and John McCain had aired, Chris Matthews expressed his latest over the top admiration for Obama's speaking skills as the MSNBC anchor admitted that Obama's speech created a 'thrill' in his leg"

Che flag sends 'disturbing' message about Obama
Candidate attracts 'people who think mass murderers are romantic revolutionaries'

The Fox TV affiliate in Houston has captured images of a volunteer in a campaign office for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama working in front of a flag featuring the image of Che Guevara, the South American revolutionary who became Fidel Castro's executioner after the communist takeover in Cuba.
And while the Obama campaign has issued a statement placing a modest distance between the campaign and its "volunteers," the issue of such an image on display in an office operating on behalf of a man hoping to be commander in chief of the world's last remaining superpower is raising alarms.
Even Obama supporters have been forced into corners because of the issue, with one likening the Texas state Republican Party to Guevara, to whom have been attributed hundreds of executions of anti-Castro leaders.
Under the heading "Barack Guevara," Investor's Business Daily raised some of the more pointed questions, to which the campaign responded only with a statement: "The office featured in this video is funded by volunteers of the Barack Obama Campaign and is not an official headquarters for his campaign. ..."

From Sept 11, 2001, New York Times article/interview with Obama associate and friend, William/Bill Ayers.
Article title: "No Regrets for a Love Of Explosives; In a Memoir of Sorts, a War Protester Talks of Life With the Weathermen"
"During his fugitive years, Mr. Ayers said, he lived in 15 states, taking names of dead babies in cemeteries who were born in the same year as he. He describes the typical safe house: there were usually books by Malcolm X and Ho Chi Minh, and Che Guevara's picture in the bedroom; fermented Vietnamese fish sauce in the refrigerator, and live sourdough starter donated by a Native American that was reputed to have passed from hand to hand over a century."
(snip)
"Mr. Ayers, who in 1970 was said to have summed up the Weatherman philosophy as:
'Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, kill your parents, that's where it's really at,' is today distinguished professor of education at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

you need to go shopping....try che-mart.com for some excellent che wear
How’s the temp down there Che - hot enough for ya? If you are longly, don’t fret. You’re pal Fidel will be there shortly.
Revolutionaries should ALWAYS first learn how to use a compass and a map!
Ok Chris, so by that token, it should be ok to wear shirts with Hitler on them, after all he's not out to get us now either.
But communists ARE 'out to get us now'! And they're in a better position than ever to destroy the country from within. That is why this is such a critical election.
In my view, today should be a national holiday. It speaks volumes about us that garments with pictures of nazis are frowned upon while pictures of leftist butchers are often found on the clothing of our children.
Dude, if you’ve got anymore like that...please post. Way to funny!!!
Years ago I read a book called “Shadow Warrior”. It was about the CIAs hunt for Che. The author stated that when they caught up with him and he was already dead, he switched his Rolex with Che’s before the guard saw and they cut off Che’s hands and sent them to Cuba. Does anyone know if this is true?
That’s the only one I have of Che. I shamelessly ripped itoff from here a couple of years ago. I have it titled, “Tickle-Me Che”.
