I don't disagree with Rush very often but I am this time.

What I saw was a John McCain who looked people in the face and answered their questions directly without shouting or interrupting The Chosen One. Obama acted like he was mailing this one in. I don't think that impressed the undecided.

McCain tied Obama to Fannie and Freddie early on. I think he won the tax debate. He even made a joke about Osama not answering questions while McCain spoke clearly and directly.

Boring. It depends if you were looking for information or a fight. Remember that you have to win over the undecideds now and that was what this town hall was geared towards.

As far as Brokejaw. I won't defend him. The only fair interviewer would have been Brit Hume and maybe one or two others.

All in all I thought McCain cleaned his clock. Polling data in about 3-4 days should tell although I don't trust them. We should see some "tightening".

You may disagree with what I've said but I'm not going to debate this all night. These are my opinions. You can have your own.

Brokaw may be the worst moderator on the planet. Could he found any more boring questions?

Pray for W, Palin/McCain and Our Troops

My son just asked a great question. Why don’t they pledge allegiance to the flag of The United States of America before the debate?

We were awake long enough to hear this portion of the *debate* [rehash of stump speechs] ... Rush nails it here and it needs to be said loud and clear:

"We all need to make sacrifices now because our better days are over, so we all have to give up something. That's not what we have to do. We need, with all that's going on, to go out and work even harder to produce even more. And we can, we have done it throughout our entire existence. The whole notion of American exceptionalism does not exist in the minds of Barry Obama and all of his supporters on the left, both in the Democrat Party and the media. American exceptionalism, growth, economic opportunity. We're going to come out of this slide that we're in at some point; we always do. We're gonna grow through the roof again, unless we have somebody in the White House whose express purpose is to redesign the functioning of this country."

I honestly do care and will vote for the liberal McCain. But he likes to “reach across the ailse”, you know, so I’m sure he will want to please the Dems if a SC position opens up or, at least, RINO Arlen Spector.

Obama may not have been all that great, but he looked smooth. He looked debonair. He looked like the guy standing in the corner at the cocktail party with the cigarette looking at everybody walking by condemning them, making jokes, putting them down and so forth. Yes, he's cool, calm, and collected."

A very apt description

The problem with president McCain is the rapid slide towards socialism continues. Most of this will come from the democratic congress with McCain eagerly signing (see amnesty, election reform, global warming remedies, taxes, bailouts, gang of thirteen judicial nominations, last night's federal mortgage initiative, etc.).

I agree that McCain is less bad than obama, but the responsibilty for the train wreck that will be the next four years needs to be accurately affixed. Any problem will be laid at the feet of the Republican party only because a Republican happens to be president. The sub prime msm/dem drill will be repeated over and over again. McCain has proven himself even more incapable of defending himself and party than even GWB, who to date is the worst I've ever seen.

At some point you've got to throw in the towel on a bad season with bad players and begin to retool for the next year. Whether its McCain or obama in 2010 we are going to be in a mess. With obama the reaction will be throw the liberals out in the mid terms. With McCain it will be we still don't have enough dems to counter this evil Republican president. With McCain you get four years more of creeping socialism then obama and more dems in 2012. With obama the libs are forced to take responsibilty and we start turning this around in 2010.

Charlie Black, who has been around Republican presidential politics as long as I've been doing this show and probably longer, he's a McCain aide, you know what he told the New York Times, Dawn? Did you hear McCain's $300 billion idea last night for mortgages? Buy 'em directly, the Treasury secretary to buy these mortgages? Charlie Black, you know who he credited as having come up with this idea? Hillary Clinton. So McCain's number one fundraiser financial advisor is out there crediting Hillary Clinton in the New York Times, at least the way he's quoted, crediting Hillary Clinton for McCain's mortgage idea. I knew it sounded like a communist idea when I heard it. Now I know why. It has roots with Mrs. Clinton.

Birds of a feather and all that...

We're going to have to drag Senator McCain over the finish line and then we're going to have to deal with what he does in the Oval Office ourselves.

You drag him, Rush. I'm not lifting a finger to help this POS.

Yeah... he isn't my first choice either. I have high expectations for Palin’s future... McCain is something we must endure to get there. He is sterling when compared to that radical muzzie marxist POS... I can't even stomach hearing his voice any longer.

Brokaw asked most of the same questions that were asked in the first debate. No wonder there was little new stuff revealed.

This was the best way in the world to save Obama from his teleprompter addiction. One in 3 debates which he could have gaffed in had he been asked any question of substance, they just let him have it for free.

I hear you, and if not for Sarah Palin I’d say let the country go down in flames for 4 years, and wait for the grownups to take over in 2012.

However. I firmly believe the next president will be a 1 term president. If its Obama, he’s out as soon as he puts Quadafi in his cabinet (or whatever), and if its McCain, I can see him quitting because of various reasons, or possibly even stepping aside and supporting Palin. The thing is, I see this as an opportunity for Palin to get her sea-legs in national politics and move America forward.

Also...if Obama gets elected, Americans will die. If McCain gets elected, many of those Americans won’t die. For me, the pros outweigh the cons (or ex-cons, in Obama’s case).

“This is the lesson: never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never - in nothing, great or small, large or petty - never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.”
-Sir Winston Churchill 29 October 1941.

>> After last night, I almost don’t care who wins

It’s not about you, me, or McCain. It’s about the future of the Country, and don’t let anything steer your attention away from that.

Winston Churchill was a great man. I wish we had more great men like him today, but we have none. Well, Reagan was great, but he’s gone.

I just read the memoirs of the 2nd world war by Winston Churchill. I recommend EVERYONE read it. You will learn just how sorry a state the world has become since he saved us all from another fascist in another time.

Rush is the reason we won in 94 and it would behoove Obambi to get him and Hannity and Beck and Laura and Mark off the air pronto.
The only way these guys can win is if they shut down the debate and clear the field, like what they're doing now by calling everyone that doesn't bow before “the one” racist and unpatriotic.

Rush will be our lifeline for the next two years.

I’d rather have Yosemite Sam than Firefly as Head of State:
