Via TPM:

In most political speeches, the common refrain is “my fellow citizens”.

John McCain just referred to the country as “my fellow prisoners.”

“Across this country, this is the agenda i have set before my fellow prisoners and the same standards of clarity and candor must now be applied to my opponent.”

Did he really say that?

Yes, he really said that. My mouth dropped open and you could see Sarah and his daughter cring and look around to see if anyone else noticed it. That slip could be bad for Mac. I think we all have to keep remembering that we are voting for Sarah for president, no matter what. She is destined to be president.

I heard him say that too. But at first I thought, yea that’s right, with an Obama presidency we would all be prisoners. In fact we are currently being held prisoner by the this economy. I didn’t think it was a big deal.
