Amerikans don’t care. They want free stuff. They have decided that it is better to be a nanny nation than a freedom loving free country. Free stuff over weighs freedom any time. /scalding sarcasm still on
I’m starting to think you’re right. The indoctrination that began at least with the New Deal if not before, and came into its own in the Sixties, is starting to pay. Americans no longer believe in sacrifice and the priority of freedom, they just want the state to take care of everything so they can listen to their ipods and watch reality TV. Our forefathers, to these people, are just figures in a book, not living breathing humans who wanted also to just live their lives and be with their families, but were willing to give them up for their country and its freedom. An abundance of prosperity has unfortunately weakened us, it seems. We didn’t have the character for it.
