I thought it was a great attack. Never had anything to do with the "one's" color. As in "that one did vote for it" in reference to a bill that was loaded with pork.
Greenfield is reaching. Matthews is taking his usual anti-McCain approach. More garbage from the left.

I thought Obama thought of himself as “the One”
To: Crimson Elephant
There was nothing odd about it. He asked who voted for the Bush bill and replied...that one. It cut on Obama’s assertions that McCain votes with Bush everytime.

It’s a bit of a reach to find any racism in that comment. They’re both senators and they’re both candidates.
Morons currently on ABC masquerading as college students.

“That one” doesn't provide the demanded respect of an annointed messiah.

Not "that one."

Anyone who’se been around mothers and children know that mothers always will say of a kid, “That one does such and such.” It’s a parent talking to a kid thing, which in this case is appropriate.

No, you don’t understand. McCain did not say “that one.” He said “that One,” as in Barack the messiah.

Remember the flak Perot took woth his “you people” comment in front of the NAACP?
I do...that one...ahem was a little more understandable as he was speaking to a certain group.
McCain's comment...well, I've had that comment directed at me and it had nothing to do with race. It was more that I was acting like a snarky young wiseguy.
Live on FOX now...the McCain camp seems to be trying to own the comment, but the Obama camp is calling it a 'gaffe'.
Amazing what the press focuses on. Amazing and sad.

Whaaaat? “That one” is grammatically correct, and is also a humorous stab at “The One”. What kind of moron would try to equate this with Perot’s “You people”?!

This is so ridiculous.
It is a sign of DESPERATION.
It is "gaffe creation" where one did not or does not exist.
A True Conservative like Sarah Palin (imagine her voice now), would say "Maaan, you must be joking, right? How could ANYONE inject race into that!?" and then just laugh it off.
But a RINO, politically correct animal that he is, so overly sensitive, with inner staff likewise pre-disposed, with inner cores like marshmallows, would say "sorry, no offense. Did not mean anything bad by it" and guilt trip, giving the Obama-ites an opening.
I hope CNN and Obama go FULL BORE ON THIS "GAFFE".
What will happen is 70-80% of the American people will not see what they see and it will blow up right in their faces. Keep it up CNN! Keep it up NYT!
Which gaffe will push Obama further behind because they will look like idiots trying to create a scene when there isnt one? Why..... THAT ONE!!

I kinda wish this would become an issue because the bill McCain was speaking about shows Obama to be a hypocrite.
One other place where McCain could have hit him hard was where Obama said we can't permit genocide. I wished McCain would have come back with "well you were against going into Iraq and getting rid of Sadaam Hussein and he was committing genocide."

He never called him “Barack”.
He consistently referred to him as Senator Obama.

White people don’t like seeing someone unfairly called a racist. Let them keep this up and we’ll win.
