This is what I am having when I get home (3 or 4 of them)

Gin Buck

1 ounces Gin
1 tablespoon Lemon
6 ounces Ginger Ale

Pour gin and juice of lemon into an old-fashioned glass over ice cubes. Fill with Ginger Ale, stir, and serve.

This is my absolute favorite highball. Juniper and ginger go together as well as tomato and basil. It should be noted that you can make an equally valid version by substituting lime juice for the lemon juice. And if you can find a place where someone knows the drink by name, make that bar your hangout because he/she is a good barkeep.

You know, I have not drank it years (couldn’t stand the payback), but your recipe is really making me thirsty. Hmmm.....maybe I will go off the wagon :-)

I’m a bartender, but I didn’t know how to make this. Don’t know why cause it’s so obvious. It’s similar to a Tom Collins except with less sour and ginger ale instead of soda. I love all three ingredients. I’m going to add it to my repertoire. I’d probably make it in a Collins glass (a little smaller and taller than an old fashioned glass), same amount of gin, lemon to personal taste, fill with ginger ale. If you’re ever in Houston, I’ll be glad to make or buy one for ya. :)

Sounds good, I was in the middle of watching the debate when Marquette Univ called up to ask my husband for money. I just called them a liberal and hung up.
