While the two presidential candidates, Senators John McCain and Barack Obama, prepare for their second debate on Oct. 7 at Belmont University in Nashville, Tom Brokaw gets to sift through questions submitted by you. In addition to queries from a group randomly selected by the Gallup organization, Brokaw will be fielding questions submitted online at mydebates.org, the site created by the Commission on Presidential Debates and Myspace. The focus of the town hall-style debate will be domestic and foreign policy, Brokaw's specialties.
Sean should’ve told him his breath stunk! Close as he was. I would’ve.
Good news, thanks!
I have been part of Team Bush until the bailout. No longer—he just gave up. Guess I better dust off my passport
That's how it looks to me. Like I said earlier McCain isn't talking to the base. He's after the undecided populous voter. This is one carrot that's already being dangled.
That’s Schickelgruber.
I think McCain’s plan includes those things but I believe there is more to it. I think his plan allows a percentage (up to 50%?) of the proceeds upon sale go back to government. Plus, only credit and income qualifying current owners would be able to do the deal. I’m not 100% certain on this. This is what has been told to me. Let me see if I can find it in writing somewhere. It could all be BS.
A machine-bought Coke. You can look it up -- I was quite critical of McCain in the last debate. By the same token, I thought he did very well tonight, drawing the necessary distinctions between himself and Obama. AND ... he answered almost all of the questions put to him; Obama skipped a lot of them.
Once we get beyond the spin cycle, I think the concensus will be that McCain did better than Obama did on a wide spectrum. He came across as more knowlegeable.
I heard Kraut is a psychiatrist?
Me thinks conservatives need to grassroots revolt against the GOP, even if it means uniting to write in a better candidate. At this point, ANY conservative would be better than McCain. Is he going to give illegal aliens amnesty before or after he buys out their mortgages?
Barack Obama is a charismatic carnival barker
The Republicans have to cut ties with the Wall Street crowd. Those who worship at the altar of GDP aren’t Americans IMHO. America first and everything else falls naturally into place.
Rasmussen has predicted a blow-out.
McCain-Palin is the ONLY ticket standing between a capitalist democracy and a socialist dictatorship...that’s what matters today.
I BELIEVE that the blow-out in the Presidential election cycle in 2008 MUST be the McCain-Palin ticket.
If YOU voice ANY dissent to that idea, as of tonight, you are an enemy of my beloved nation in MY view.
GET WITH THE PROGRAM OR GET OUT OF OUR WAY
“The dead only get one vote.”
Hmm.
Well, if you believe in reincarnation - that is one vote per life.
I had to drive out of town today and decded to do a personal poll. I saw tons of signs everywhere, but they were all for local candidates. Not a single McCain/Palin or Obama sign to be seen, anywhere. Zip, noda, none. Now there are two reasons for that. It's a small town and neighbors won't generally put out signs for presidential candidates for fear of offending the next door neighbor. The other reason is that people are really for McCain, but are afraid to put up signs for fear of being thought racist. So my "poll" didn't really tell me anything about the election, just about people. I guess the one McCain/Palin sign that I saw driving back into town is not enough to count.
I've been thinking about that ... but in fairness to McCain, would Sarah be on the ticket at all without him? I don't see any of our other choices nominating her as their running mate. I think it took a McCain to choose a Pitbull (my two cents).
His "maybe" answer to the "Is Russia going back to being the Evil Empire" question was masterful. Anybody paying attention at that point will have seen the difference between a leader and a talker.
Watch this video, of Obama's supporters, Obama's comrades, Obama's mentors. It's going to take another 90 minutes of your time, but when you are finished, I hope you will pass this link on to other's who are vacillating, weak-in-the-knees, not sure there's a dime's difference between the candidates, not sure they are going to bother to vote because all hope is lost, blah, blah, blah.
We have a clear choice, and we need to convince everybody we can that they have a clear choice. It's either going to be a vote to continue this great experiment in a free republic, or surrender to this:
I will still vote for him due to Obama....
but I bought a house that was not overblown in price, that I could afford, got a fixed rate interest and didn’t allow the loan sharks to screw me into taking out an ARM and a second mortgage just to get financed at 20K above the price of the home.
Did these people not see the principal on those papers was way over the selling price. I can almost understand the interest confusion, but come on, the principal is clearly posted.
