The Palins' un-American activities (Salon hit piece)
Salon ^ | 10/7/08 | David Talbot

Posted on 10/07/2008 1:39:12 PM PDT by steve-b

"My government is my worst enemy. I'm going to fight them with any means at hand."

This was former revolutionary terrorist Bill Ayers back in his old Weather Underground days, right? Imagine what Sarah Palin is going to do with this incendiary quote as she tears into Barack Obama this week.

Only one problem. The quote is from Joe Vogler, the raging anti-American who founded the Alaska Independence Party. Inconveniently for Palin, that's the very same secessionist party that her husband, Todd, belonged to for seven years and that she sent a shout-out to as Alaska governor earlier this year. ("Keep up the good work," Palin told AIP members. "And God bless you.")...

Vogler's greatest moment of glory was to be his 1993 appearance before the United Nations to denounce United States "tyranny" before the entire world and to demand Alaska's freedom. The Alaska secessionist had persuaded the government of Iran to sponsor his anti-American harangue.

That's right ... Iran. The Islamic dictatorship. The taker of American hostages. The rogue nation that McCain and Palin have excoriated Obama for suggesting we diplomatically engage. That Iran.

AIP leaders allege that Vogler, who was murdered that year by a fellow secessionist, was taken out by powerful forces in the U.S. before he could reach his U.N. platform. "The United States government would have been deeply embarrassed," by Vogler's U.N. speech, darkly suggests Clark. "And we can't have that, can we?"

The Republican ticket is working hard this week to make Barack Obama's tenuous connection to graying, '60s revolutionary Bill Ayers a major campaign issue. But the Palins' connection to anti-American extremism is much more central to their political biographies....

This is so stupid. A lot of Alaskans are a member of AIP and most of them don’t advocate secession today. It’s a libertarian/Conservative Party. Wally Hickel, who worked in rge Nixon Admn I believe, was a member of AIP at one point.

My Husband is forced to be in a Union. do you know the crap they say? They are even endorsing Obama and my husband cant do a thing about it if he wants a job.

so you could actually trace him back to Obama and Ayers.

She didn’t give “speeches”. She did a video presentation welcoming their convention to Wasilla when she was mayor.

You’re actually trying to validate this idiotic story.

Which isn’t the least bit surprising, come to think of it.

If one were to bring up everybody a candidate ever met who said bad things about America, we would have to list Whoopie, Oprah, and every rapper and movie star who have endorsed Obama.

We only bring up people who actually deployed real bombs, not verbal ones.

The Salonistas are using this story to try to parry any raising of the Bill Ayers issue.

You’re onto to something, especially with Texas. All we need is about ten million like-minded people to move there and make it happen... before Obama gets into the White House, preferably.

Once again, Palin is a concave mirror: any accusation they throw at her gets reflected & focused far brighter on BHO. Imputing truth to the articles accusation, in turn BHO is far more guilty as his closer associate did actual violent harm, a thousand times worse a crime than mere controversial rhetoric.

McCain & company are far from perfect, and a great many current supporters found him contemptable when other better options were available. Now that it’s McC vs. BHO, we find that the objections still exist - but are far greater against his opponent.

When up against a judo expert, don’t attack in ways he has trained to defelct & reflect.

Salon once wrote that I...”suffer(ed) from a warped sense of self-importance.” I am pleased to be in such good company.

Here is my thought on Obama.
1. Is not a citizen of U.S.A. by law you are suppose to be over certain age and a citizen.
2. Was with his pastor for 20 years a pastor that condems the U.S.
3. Was and still associate with the guy that helped bomb the pentagon and said that this was not enough.
4. Got to be a senator by default and not because his abilities. Was able to dig dirt against his opponent where he quit the race and only Obama was left to be chosen.
5. He is in touch with Amron which is full of frauds when it comes to register votes.
6. I am sure he has many people registering illegal.
7. Never helped his half brother.
8. No experience in anything but community organizer.

These are only some of the things + no one want to release information about him. Why? Is there anything to hide?
At least I know Mccain. Do you really know Al Obama Hussein?

The Salonistas are using this story to try to parry any raising of the Bill Ayers issue.

[AVERAGE VOTER]...the Democrat guy had a friend who was in the Weather Underground way back when... the Republican chick was in a political party led by some guy who got killed from getting mixed up in a plastic-explosives deal... eh... whatever.....[/AVERAGE VOTER]

Secession is different from civil war. The south wanted to secede not take the government over. The AIP may want to secede but that is different from taking over the federal government by terrorist means and starting a civil war.

For all you or I know the AIP may want to secede and use the original Constitution as a starting point.

Analysis right on target. The libtards are trying SOOOOO hard to come up with “political equivalence” between the McCain/Palin and Obama/Biden tickets-——but there isn’t any.
