Soros with short hedge funds would pick off one financial company after another. They did. They were stuffed with worthless Fannie & Freddie mortgages.
Soros and his gang wiped out the banks on Wall Street. Wachovia was done in when it bought the Sandlers (big Dems) bank stuffed with worthless mtgs.
It gets even sacarier. Penny Pritzker of Chicago is part of the billionaire family (Hyatt etc). She is on Obama’s team. Pritzker’s sold half of their holdings to Buffett. Buffet is also a huge shareholder in Wells Fargo which is taking over Wachovia. Oddly - Wells did not stuff itself with ARM and subprime mortgages. Buffett’s big competitor was AIG in insurance and Greenberg at AIG was a huge Repub contributor.
