My mom was a Hillary supporter. She won’t vote for Oboma so I keep working on her, trying to get her to vote McCain/Palin. So far no luck.

Was at my cousin's son's wedding on Sunday. He is a retired steelworker from Pennsylvania currently living in SC. I asked him if he knew why the economy was in trouble. "Yah. They've been giving the blacks free houses". I talk to him every couple of years, and don't remember him being politically aware.

The polls are "weighted" based upon "projections" of "likely" voter registrations and turnout, and have been dead wrong for the past 2 presidential cycles. Both Gore and Kerry were 'leading' in the national polls at this point in the '00 and '04 races... both lost.

Like with Carter and Reagan in 1980, when they said Carter was ahead right up to the end, and then on the weekend before the election finally gave Reagan a "slight" edge...and then it was a landslide for Reagan.

It amazed me how with double digit inflation, double digit interest rates, a recession, hostages in Iran, military falling apart and all the rest of Carters tragic term he got 43% in election

But you never see this in the media. I think they deliberately make the crowd look smaller. Remember all those far away shots and the media reports of how many people attended an Obama rally? I haven’t seen that much lately either. Could it be Obama isn’t drawing as big a crowds as Sarah.I read not too long ago that he was drawing about 5000 people on a good day.
