In Tucson this Sunday, Monday and Tuesday (10/05/2008 to 10/07/2008) various events are scheduled to support the Crisis Pregnancy Center in the "2008 Share in a Life Fundraising Event." Sunday night was a great lunch at the Doubletree Inn.
Scheduled to speak on both Sunday and Monday was Hugh Hewitt, the famous radio personality, lawyer and author. Michael Medved is the featured speaker for Tuesday, October 7th. Even though Hugh Hewitt's flight was down between Phoenix and Tucson, Hewitt rushed to a ground vehicle and zoomed to Tucson where he was only a little late.
Hewitt's speech was great in many ways but made an excellent and important point. If the election goes a certain way, all hope of overturning the unconstitutional Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton will be lost. That's because Obama appointed abortion advocate judges and Supreme Court Justices will be exercising their partisan activist opinions to seal the "law" into place.
Then the focus will need to change. Currently some Pro-Life people are working on overturning the law, others, like Crisis Pregnancy Centers are more focused on getting people to make the right choice. If the election goes horribly wrong Pro-lifers will need to support Crisis Pregnancy centers even more.
As a matter of fact, Tucson Crisis Pregnancy Center is at the forefront of Crisis Pregnancy Centers in America. It does outstanding work. I should know, because my Mom works there! Whenever commenting on abortion issues on local internet comment boards, I make a link to the Tucson CPC in case anyone has been traumatized by an abortion in their life or if they are considering an abortion.
Another speaker at the lunch told a story of her daughter that had been killed by an abortionist in Florida. She had persevered for justice and the clinic was shut down. She urged everyone to become more involved in Pro-life activities.
A gospel singing group sang some wonderful hymns but then one of the singers dropped a bomb, giving an unscheduled testimony about how she had had two abortions in her youth and she missed her children and grandchildren.
She, too, urged people to support CPC with donations, because, had she had such a center available back then, she would have known the truth and never had those abortions. It was a touching moment because those familiar with Pro-life issues know the lies used to trick young women into having abortions. They are told it's not a real baby along with other falsehoods.
Much of my family was there including my Mom who works at CPC. We all felt touched by the work of the CPC and blessed by a miracle in our family. My niece had just this Friday had a c section due to complications, giving birth to a boy at six months. Mother and child are doing fine, by the grace of our Lord. Yes, we all donated.
