Easy to believe...the Maoists have reason to commit the crime.
Yet many groups, govcernment included have reason to blame the Christians. For many hard-line Hindus, they are opportunistically leaving the Caste system to escape their low status and yet still demanding preferred low-caste status for jobs, civil service placements, etc. The high castes hate seeing them escape - it’s no fun being an entrenched bully when your victims find a way to make you irrelevant. And that’ss what a lot of this comes down to - an attempt to preserve traditional hierarchies.
