At least eight "Barack Obamas" who borrowed the Democratic presidential candidate's name to run in Brazilian local elections lost.

Brazilian electoral law allows candidates to put any name on the ballot as long as it isn't offensive.Unenforced laws in the US allow for the same with voters.

In Texas you can use a “nickname” on the ballot.
The Outlaw Josey Wales (a former wrestler, I think) has run for office in Houston several times. And I suspect he was the most honest of the bunch.
