"proclaiming that in 2006 Obama introduced legistation in the US Senate"

My memory is that the talking head asked what kind of legislation Obami had introduced that she said he "contacted Paulson" (or it might have been that he contacted the Treasury secretary). The talking head didn't follow up by asking if it was a letter, a phone call, something said on the floor, etc.

My impression was she had gone beyond spin and was outright lying.

She also said that McCain said it was “above his pay grade”.....That was Obama. What are the dems up to? Twisting the words really bad here.

Didn’t Obama brag about having written a letter to Paulson about subprime lending (though probably the ‘predatory’ aspects of it) in 2006?

Biden said in the VP debate that Obama wrote a letter to the Secretary of the Treasury. Wow ... that sure made a difference.

I got that impression too..she was really tap dancing. But to uninformed voters she probably made sense.

It’s a lie.

McCain tried to reign them in in 2006, not Obamanation.

Just heard “whats her name” say something about Obama recommended a financial summit in 2006. No mention of legislation.

That was one of B Clintons tricks. When he was on the wrong side of an issue he would recommend a summit to get problems resolved. Remember him talking to union loggers in Oregon in 1992. They were concerned about restrictions to logging because of the spotted owl. Clinton said if elected he would hold a summit to get that resolved. Bush (elder) said he would do everything he could to make sure the the endangered species act was not used as a weapon to prevent logging. The union leaqders supported Clinton much to concern of the union members.

he "contacted Paulson"

The treasury secretary does not originate legislation - though he might propose it. Congress does. You know. Folks like O. They get out a keyboard, and type out proposal for legislation, pass it around, see if they can get cosponsors, and then propose it in committee.
