McCain has a problem because he voted for and was highly visible in the bailout mess. His principled earmarks points are made weaker, since the final bill included a ton of earmarks, and the bailout itself is a form of government takeover/socialism that weakens any argument for government to get out of the way, against government taking a stronger role when it comes to the free market place. McCain is weakened by the economic mess, and he hurt himself further by voting for the bailout, even if in the end it may have been the right thing to do for the economy (the verdict on that is still out.)

You need an energetic party leadership to reach out to new voters. We should have voter drives, we should making the case to Latinos that we share many of the same views.

I know, and that's how we have done it here in what is still a solid red state with lots of Hispanics: Texas. But no one else has learned a damned thing in the last three years.

You remind me of an Andy Capp cartoon character who always had a rain cloud over his head, everywhere he went he was doom and gloom. Do you get paid for this dance or is in gratis work?

That daily tracking poll from Rasmussen isn't too good either.

Al Capp. He was the cartoonist of Li’l Abner wherein the character you mentioned appeared.
Andy Capp is a cartoon character.

Again, NO WAY there is an 8 point spread. Someone please post the breakdown of Presidential elections over the past 50 years by percentage.

Yeah you’re right, McCain is in great shape, he’s ran a wonderful campaign and the only reason that EVERY national poll shows him significantly behind is that the polling companies (both Rep and Dem) are in the tank for Obama.

Because if he is up 12-15% , in reality he will probably be up only 2-4%, if that . . Many people that think it is cool to say they are for the Obama-Messiah , will do what they wouldn’t say in public when they enter that voting booth . Case in point. My brother voted today in Florida . He was leaning toward the Obama-Messiah because of he economy, until Palin was in Clearwater and brought up the Ayers connection .

How very ... juvenile. Jumping to extremes (hyperbole) is a liberal trait. Been there long?

It’s double whammy. Fear of an obama presidency and fear of the impending meltdown. But think of the buying opportunities (gallows humor)

Come on. An 11% difference between final polls on election day and reality? No way.

I would be willing to bet that I’m to the right, politally, of just about anyone here. Far enough to the right that I couldn’t get elected to public office.

You are just like a few others on here that get their panties in a bind every time I post a poll that shows McCain behind. I’m not going to selectively post polling threads based on whether McCain is up or down. As soon I can find a poll showing him ahead (again), I will be the first to post it.

Now if you want to continue to personnally attack me because I choose post polling results from Gallup, Rasmussen or any other ‘reputable’ polling agency (that shows McCain behind), then you show yourself to be nothing but a pathetic idiot as the same insults wouldn’t be made if these same polling companies showed McCain ahead.

Attack you? Your paranoia is showing. I am merely pointing out your proclivity for doom and gloom. Whether you’re a conservative or not by your proclamation doesn’t interest me in the slightest, I just go on the posted facts of your pernicious presence at FR. What would fans think if a football coach spent every moment with his team pointing out nothing but their failure, never the strengths or successes?

My proclivity for doom and gloom? How about my proclivity for reality. Our team is behind and if McCain doesn't pull his head out of his RINO @ss, we are likely to be the recipients of a severe beating come Nov 4.
