Sarah Palin lit up an overflow crowd at the Civic Auditoriums Music Hall with a 24-minute mixture of attacks on Democrat Barack Obama and a pledge that she and John McCain can deliver lower taxes and energy independence.
The Alaska governor and No. 1 hockey mom also adopted the University of Nebraska at Omahas hockey team. "I love that cheer Go Mavericks," said Palin, who insists she and McCain are the real Mavericks ready to bring change to the nation.
In her remarks, Palin warned that Obama and the Democrats have "a left wing agenda prettied up to look like Main Street politics."
The folksy vice presidential candidate even poked fun at herself that the spoof of her by Saturday Night Lives Tina Fey.
But in the end, her task was to rally the Republican faithful behind McCain in Nebraska 2nd Congressional District that has become one of the most surprising battleground of this presidential campaign.
Sarah Palin rally in Omaha "There is only one man in this campaign who has ever really fought for you," she said to cheers. "That man is John McCain. Thank you, Nebraska."
After her speech, Palin was surrounded by well-wishers seeking her autograph. Accompanied by Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman, she grabbed hands and signed autographs along her exit route from the Music Hall.
Exactly so, and I'm glad somebody on McCain's campaign is finally saying this. Perhaps the economy will win it for Obama, but at least the voters should have full knowledge of who they're going to vote in in Obama.

I arrived at the location at about 11am. A few die-hards were there already :)
By 2pm, the lines were starting to get long. By 4pm, people were going through the security checks. Things were a buzzin by 6pm.
Sarah is a good speaker and it was easy to relate to her.
Isn’t Nebraska a ‘lock’ for McCain? If so, why waste time campaigning there with ~30 days left?
The 2nd Congressional district is considered a battleground. Her visit is to help shore it up.
Because it’s number 3 in corn and number 2 in ethanol. McCain made his position clear on this. Same problem in Iowa and Indiana. We will still win Nebraska and Indiana but not by as much as President Bush did.
Nebraska will apportion delegates by Congressional District. The winner of the state takes two extra EV. My guess is that McCain needs to shore up one of the CD.
Outstanding remark! Hammer/nail/head.
Anyone who went got any pictures to post?
BTTT from a native Nebraska gal. Wish I could have been there.
Sarah Palin is the best thing McCain’s campaign has done. Go Sarah!
Omaha is very close to Iowa...Iowa needs a good kick in the fanny...Sarah was going back east anyway from California....this is an excellent stop IMO....
Let her be everywhere......if she can do it.....I can't believe the physical, mental and emotional drain this is on her.....
THANKYOU SARAH PALIN!
Went to the rally. Only made it to the overflow area, but still got to see a real Reagan conservative. It’s an endangered spieces, but at least I got to see one before we collapse into socialism.
