Subway has foot longs for $5.00, and I guess even bears are feeling the economic pinch.

Saw on Fox this morn.

Worker in back must have seen on monitor screen and beat feet.

The bear probably said: “Can I get me a huntin’ license here.”

And a Bear in there to boot.

PETA is pleased.

This event happened in Kitimat, British Columbia.

Bears are becoming more of a regular feature amongst humans in BC. The other week three bears romped thru my Mom and Dad’s back yard and up-and-down their suburban cul-de-sac street just outside Vancouver. Increased development in the surrounding hills is considered to be the cause.

When we were kids it was not uncommon to encounter raccoons and skunks in our suburban neighborhood. The occasional cougar was seen up by the University. But black bears were seldom if ever sighted this close to town.

Obviously it didn’t read the sign that says,

“No shoes, no shirt, no service.”

Okay, that was freakin’ cute..... I wish the bear hadn't been killed though. They can tranquilize them and move them further off into the wilderness. I guess I'm a big softie.

I agree. This was obviously a very smart bear. It didn’t have to be killed.

"... a black bear will not seek out humans to attack ..."

Baloney. It's extremely rare but it happens. Years ago in Colorado a man was killed by a black bear inside his trailer. The bear opened the front door and went after him.

I was wondering if he came in the front door and did the order in sign language.

I also agree. It could have been relocated, or if nothing else, put in a zoo.

I think it's just easier on everyone to shoot them, but I think they could probably find volunteers to help with relocating, etc.
