Dallas Republicans enthusiastically greeted Sarah Palin on Friday, fresh off her debate with Joe Biden.
"It is good to be visiting here in Alaska's little sister state Texas," the Republican vice presidential candidate told more than 1,000 people at a fundraiser at the Fairmont hotel.
She spoke for about 20 minutes, discussing energy, government reform and the tough sledding for the McCain campaign, which trails Barack Obama in most polls, in the final few weeks before Election Day.
Its not just in Washington, D.C., its across the country, the hunger for reform, Ms. Palin said.
Introduced by Gov. Rick Perry, Ms. Palin told the crowd that the hometown of the Dallas Mavericks is ready to put a team of Mavericks in the White House."

Sarah, hon, a bit of advice. Never, ever refer to THE GREAT STATE OF TEXAS as “little.” That comment just cost you more than a few votes.

The comments to the article are some of the most hateful I have read. This is NOT the Dallas I lived in for more than 25 years.

Someone has size issues. :>)
Heck, I’m from Texas, and I find her statement kind of funny - only an Alaskan could say that and get away with it.

Fund raising. They originally planned for her to do a lot more fund raising, but scaled it back due to her popularity.

I remember when Alaska became a state. Texas appeared to be upset that they no longer would be the biggest state.
The then Alaskan governor said stop complaining or we will dived the state into thirds, then you will be the fourth biggest state.:-)

But 30 days before the election and she is in Texas??? Yeah. Elections cost money. Plus there actually are other races besides the Presidential election. So she may visit other states besides the same dozen or so "swing states" we hear about ad nauseam.
