No confirmation on this, no tip, no hint.
But I know what he's doing.
John McCain is waiting until the bill passes.
And then he will unleash the dogs of war.

Sure, just like Bush was going to be a real conservative after the 2004 election.
Just wait for it...
bitching and moaning isn’t going to win this election.
Hope for a relentlessly liberal candidate to suddenly morph into a conservative isn’t going to save this country.
Yeah, but it would have been far more effective if it was done right away. Fast response is key.
McCain is all for bi-partisan pork.
I kept hearing what a mean person McCain is and his violent temper. Not to mention how the commies were going to push his buttons to rile him up. If it is true then McCain is not going to do anything of the sort of what is being suggested because then the commies will say “see we told you so.”
Sen McCain voted for the pork already.
Democrats did not. He was tricked.
I hope so. ACORN cannot stand scrutiny.
He should be trying to stop the bill, not helping to pass it so he can use it as political tool. If that is indeed what he’s doing, then he’s a selfish prick of the highest order.
If the bill goes down, the only candidate winning will be SaraCuda, the only outsider.
Fannie and Freddie need to be discussed more also. Obama was associated with everything that caused this credit meltdown.
And then he will unleash the dogs of war.
That would be way too little, way too late. He should stand against it NOW! Say NO to socialism!!
I have been thinking that has to be what’s going on. Like many on FR I am really disheartened by the way this whole thing has unfolded. I do think McCain has missed a golden opportunity to both render a blow to big government and Obama’s campaign, if he would have come out against the bailout and led the charge for some sort of market-based solution.
Now, the fact that he didn’t tells me either he is a complete dufus or he knows something I don’t know about the gravity of the situation. (Personally, I feel that our leaders have been informed of the likelihood of a major terrorist attack either in the US or in Europe in the next few weeks. But this is no more than a hunch). But even if that isn’t the case, I am willing to give McCain the benefit of the doubt that he feels this bailout absolutely had to happen or our economy was about to implode. Or (as some have said) that this bailout would at least keep us afloat to get past the election, so that real measures could even be attempted.
Last thought. My take on the Senate’s version... I think the dems loaded it up with all these earmarks and just dared McCain to vote “NO”.
I pray he knows what he’s doing.
BTW - I live in Oakland County, MI and I’m not giving up on this state yet. Too much can happen and there are alot of fed up people here that are as angry at Granholm as they are at the Bush admin.
Can Paling replace Mc Cain in the next two debates?
and Lucy is waiting until the bill passes.
And then she will hold the ball for Charlie Brown.
Correct.
If he attacks before the bill passses the Dems won’t vote for it and he will be blamed for it failing.
Didn’t McCain vote for the bill?
