Gwen's comments right after the debate (Vanity)

Posted on 10/03/2008 12:20:02 AM PDT by gman4bush

I watched the Fox News version of the debate again, and you could hear the chatter after the debate was over. Palin went over to Gwen first to greet her, and Gwen asks, "Now that wasn't hard was it?" Palin responded, "Not at all." and walked away.

Then Biden walked over and Gwen said, "You did a very very good job."

The condescension was sickening.

Did she really say that?

I thought Gwen met Gov. Palin on a respectful level, as equals. Yet Gwen treated Biden like a child; like a boy who just rode a bike without training wheels for the first time.

What's wrong with giving a few words of encouragement to the loser?

early reviews in from the obama camp.

The early take on the debate that just ended . . .

Washington Post:

Biden is on point: In each of the first three questions he banged on McCain. Keep your eye on the fruit...

MSNBC First Read:

Biden is hitting his stride on foreign policy. His nuance and directness on this subject is what made him so good in those Democratic primary debates.

TIME:

[Donna] Shalala on Biden’s health care answer: “Nailed it.” Women in this room erupted in cheers. Who knew there were so many Democratic CEOs?

FROM DAVID “FLUFF” campaign chair and head kool-aid mixer

“Joe Biden won a clear victory tonight because he made a passionate case for change from the disastrous economic and foreign policies of the last eight years, and Sarah Palin defended them. While Governor Palin blindly supports John McCain’s plan for more of the same policies that have devastated Main Street and let Wall Street run wild, Joe Biden spoke clearly and strongly about Barack Obama’s plan for a tax cut for the middle class, health care that is affordable, and an end to the war in Iraq. Tonight, the American people saw why Barack Obama chose Joe Biden, a statesman from Scranton who clearly has the experience and knowledge to be a great Vice President,” said Obama-Biden campaign manager David Plouffe.

I think she was just being mentor to Sarah. For example, don’t you say that to someone after a person believes something is going to be difficult and then you say, “Now that wasn’t as difficult as you thought” or something to those lines. Biden has done hundreds of these debates and did not need the reassurance that Sarah needed from Gwen.

I went in on Google and downloaded a pic of “Debbie Downer” from SNL on my computer. I am going to post it every time I encounter someone who is out to bash Sarah on a forum. Some of these people are deranged and cannot handle others praising Sarah.

Yesterday Rush came up with one of his classic jokes. He said that Palin should have said to Ifill (who has a broken leg) “Hey! Gwen! Stand up! You did a great job! OH!... GOD LOVE YOU! WHAT AM I DOING? EVERYBODY - YOU STAND UP! GIVE HER SOME APPLAUSE! This was a perfect parody of Biden’s recent blunder when he was talking to someone in a wheel chair. Only Rush!

I thought Ifill was perfectly fair, as was Lehrer.

Unlike the DUmmies, we should be able to call 'em like we see 'em, even if it's not incessant criticism of pinkos like Ifill.

She was fine.

Yes, during the debate, Gwen was just fine and fair. I’m talking in the chatter after the debate concluded.

Biden needed comforting after having been beaten to a pulp by Sarah Palin.

The comment I kept hearing from the media spin-meisters, was that she won but her performance “won’t affect the trajectory of the race.”

Also there was the linne “she a talented communicator, but...” and then they say something dismissive.

Talking points on how to spin the win I guess.

I’m not buying it. Most people connected with her and except for the uber-partisans, I think most people were pulling for her. I love it when a ‘rat plan backfires.

That broom isn’t heavy duty enough. Gwen’s derriere would snap it like a toothpick.

Surfing the obama campaign site.
Other than their adulation, adoration, and kool-aid drinking, these bloggers continually ask other posters to donate to their Fund Raiser pages. It truly is bizarre.

One poster said thank goodness for barack and joe, they make her feel “whole”.

This woman needs to arrogant jerks who don’t give a whiff about her to make her feel “whole”.

I support McCain/Palin, but I don’t need them to feel “whole”.

Their whole campaign is right out of communist dictator indoctrination. Like a cult.

They will all need deprogramming when their “God Obama” loses.

For the most part, Ifill was fair, but she gave first and last slots to Biden, which I’ve never seen before in a formal debate. Also, Palin was cut off on at least one of her answers (granted, a much better record than Chris Matthews’ stints as moderator ever produced). Home Depot Joe was never cut off and seemed to get more time, although perhaps it just appeared that way from some long, drawn-out answers he gave.

gwen, “the obama age” gave me a really good idea for a take on the 5th dimension song, the age of aquarius.

I posted it yesterday, but no one wanted to sing along.

Here’s the lyrics, replace aquarius with obama, and it’s a hit. the next song for the kool-aid drinkers or the obama kids. IT’S JUST CREEPY ENOUGH FOR THE OBAMA FOLLOWERS

The Age of Obama

When the moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars

This is the dawning of the Age of obama
Age of obama
obama! obama!

Harmony and understanding
Sympathy and trust abounding
No more falsehoods or derisions
Golden living dreams of visions
Mystic crystal revelation
And the mind’s true liberation
obama! obama!

When the moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars

This is the dawning of the Age of obama
Age of obama
obama! obama!

Let the sun shine, Let the sun shine in
The sun shine in
Let the sun shine, Let the sun shine in
The sun shine in.......
