I am convinced that all 2-year-olds are pro-life. I formed that conclusion working a pro-life booth at a local county fair.
As soon as a 2-year-old's eyes spotted one of the fetal models on the table, he or she would reach out with both arms with an impassioned plea to touch "the babies." One little girl giggled when a model of a 30-week-old unborn baby was placed in her hands.
There was not one toddler who came up to the display who did not express delight with the fetal models. In short, they loved them.
It is natural for children to be drawn to babies. It's in their DNA. They're amused and captivated by the tiniest human beings.
That's why fetal models are a great teaching tool. They show what an unborn child really looks like at various stages of development. Teenagers often express surprise to learn that a child 12 weeks after conception has eyes, fingers, toes. That's because the handiwork of God is hidden, concealed within a pregnant woman's body.
A fetal model is the best argument that can be made against "choice"--against the concept that an unborn child's existence depends solely on the mindset of the mother. Whether the mother is married or not, employed or not, graduated or not, the unborn child is a being with a genetic make-up separate from that of the pregnant woman.
While it is true that, pre-viability, an unborn child cannot exist outside the nurturing of the woman's womb, an infant cannot continue to live unless it is nourished, too. Degree of dependency should not be considered the determining factor in whether a child lives or dies.
Somewhere between toddlerhood and twenty-something-ness, something is sometimes lost. That something is a natural love for babies. Showing off fetal models at county fairs and festivals is one way to rekindle the romance with the littlest ones among us.
There are many reasons people give for justifying abortion--youth, immaturity, child abuse, poverty, disability, and disease, to name a few. Indeed, there are many problems in the modern world. Abortion doesn't solve any of them.
Very well said!

Two year olds have more maturity and understanding than the liberals
What a fantastic idea!
I remember hearing a woman speak that was doing some pro-life work. She had pictures of aborted children laying on her bed as she was getting ready to go to another speaking engagment. Her 3 year old son wandered into the room, took one look at the pictures and said, “OH Mommy, who broke the babies?”
She said she would never forget that experience as long as she lived.
If someone tried to argue that we cannot execute anyone because they might be innocent, I asked why that philosophy did not extend to babies.
“Why can’t you kill a murderer who took an adult’s like, but can kill a baby before or after it’s born?”
Any younger, and Obama would have them murdered.
The babies may understand that abortion kills a life but those tots DON’T understand that some mothers DON’T REALLY WANT THEIR KIDS.
“Every child a WANTED child.”
This is why mothers are permitted to kill their babies.
Such a rotten thing to have to tell a child.
There are some who would like to extend euthenasia to the first year of life of a baby so that if any defects are detected AFTER birth, the parents aren’t burdened.
Our two-year-old daughter has been crazy about her baby sister (currently in the 35th week) even before we knew we were having another girl. Whenever we tell her that she’ll be going somewhere with mommy and daddy, she always adds “and with the baby.”
BTW, not only is being pro-life something instinctive and natural, I am convinced that so is capitalism. Ever since she learned to talk, our daughter would say that X belongs to daddy and Y belongs to mommy and Z belongs to her, and from what I’ve seen from other kids it’s true for them, too. Besides, if socialism was natural, it wouldn’t be so difficult to teach children to share.
Excellent points and Congratulations!
Agreed.
Alhough sin enters all of our lives, whether Conservative or liberal, for some of us something much more sinister happens. For some of us, everything gets turned upside down. All that is truly Good we call evil, and all that is truly evil we call Good. We reject the Lordship of Our Father and Creator. And alas, we no longer love the little babies.
And this is the absolute truth, if GOD didn't want another child, conception wouldn't occur.
Even if the birth mother doesn’t WANT her baby (or THINKS she doesn’t want him/her) there are plenty of people who do.
If birth mothers didn’t WANT those babies they wouldn’t try to establish contact decades later.
If birth mothers didn’t WANT those babies, they wouldn’t reneg on adoption agreements.
If abortive mothers didn’t WANT those babies, they wouldn’t be haunted with pain and sorrow for their dead children.
A birth father has no option to sever his responsibilities to that baby. He’s on the hook for 18 years of financial support even for a one night stand.
The mother is granted a selfish “way out” of her own responsibilities. Even when the birth father WANTS that baby.
You are so right!
The abortionists love to talk about how adoption is on the rise in the United States. What they fail to say is that nearly ALL adoptions are of foreign babies from China and Eastern Europe. There are essentially no American babies, regardless of race, available for adoption.
I’ve known several families who spent tens of thousands of dollars trying to find a baby to adopt in the U.S. and eventually spent tens of thousands more on overseas adoption.
Ping!
That, my friend, belongs on a bumper sticker or t-shirt.
That is the way of death for Western Civilization and for Christendom itself.
Every parent must have the right in law to preserve and protect the life of their baby daughters and sons, from conception forward.
Including fathers.
