Is it too late to replace John Sidney McCain with Mitt Romney? imo, Romney during these times would have carried Michigan and been beating B. Hussein in the polls by double digits.
The pro-lifers do not trust him. The gun owners do not like him. He strapped his dog to the roof of the car. That won't go over well, nor to his flip flops on every issue...when he ran for president.
Romney couldn't even beat McCain. He was a weak candidate, and I don't think he has any appeal to the electorate beyond a segment of the GOP base. [Note: I'm not saying that McCain is a great candidate, but he DID win the prmaries and he DOES have much broader appeal, especially among independents and conservative Democrats. Really, it is a friggin' miracle that he has kept this race as close as it is right now, in a year where the Demcoratic candidate should be winning in a blowout.]
