John McCain is pulling out of Michigan, according to two Republicans, a stunning move a month away from Election Day that indicates the difficulty Republicans are having in finding blue states to put in play.

I sympathize with you and the guy from California. I guess it never hit me that we are out of range. That means I need to get my act together and get the heck out of this state before tghe Democrats totally destroy it and me.

I feel bad today because yesterday I was supposed to go to the phone bank and my friends son died so I went to the funeral home instead.

I will still work the campaign if they keep it going locally and of course, I will vote for McCain/Palin.

I think PA has gone from purple to blue as someone has said here. I have family that lives outside of Philly...it’s not going red.

Good riddance! Cut Michigan loose, and set it adrift.

Dont give up on PA yet...Philly might be blue (fraud?)...but the rest of the commonwealth will go red. There is no buzz, no excitement (except college crowd) for the Messiah...and does any one think,, in SW PA, that the average steelworker, Teamster, or mine worker is going 0bama? Hillary took PA by ten percent.

That’s ok, we’ll only stay in Texas until we’ve got enough force massed to cut through NM and AZ like a hot knife through butter and reconquer the golden state.

MI/MN/WI/PA were always longshots for McCain.

No, they aren't. They are more winnable than CO or VA would be for a liberal Rat. If McCain is really pulling out here, that would be disastrous. I'd wait for confirmation considering the source.

Now, McCain pulling out of MD should produce the same yawns that 0 pulling out of GA when he did a few weeks back. No big surprise.

McCain camp says it is merely scaling back in Michigan, not pulling out altogether. They are moving some Michigan to Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and....Maine. Yes, Maine.

Well, Wikipedia.....not exactly trustworthy....said the Bradley effect seems to be diminishing of late with Harold Ford etc.

Is it still strong in your view?

On the other hand, I just saw another thread on why they are pulling out of MI, and it is because they are going to Ohio, PA and ME. That means they seem confident they can win those IMO.

Especially since Pa is a long-shot frankly.

The Bradley effect may not be what it once was, but the more we hear black racist views spewed all over the place re this election, more non-blacks may decide to say “not this time” to this black candidate.

I live in NW Las Vegas and the bumber stickers and signs for Obama outnumber McCain probably about 20 to 1. That is just my observation and it makes me sick to see it but I will be very surprised if McCain wins Nevada. Hopefully, he doesn’t need it. What really pisses me off are all these high schoolers wearing Obama and “change” tee shirts and the seniors that are 18 talking about how they can’t wait to vote for him. My son’s class held a mock election and he and one other kid in the class voted for McCain. We’re in for some scary times in this country.

The Bambi dweebs are already saying this is more important than anything that happens in the debate.

I think they are actually a little nervous about tonight. And they should be, if she beats the point spread it will be a win.

Yes, McCain DOES INDEED have the polling lead in Florida. Within the past 24 hours his own campaign says its internal lead is seven points.

Concerning money allocated, I suggest you re-read my post again.

Interesting - I new thought NH would be the place to get back to our roots! It’s really pretty there too. If I could live amongst 20,000 people who share my values, any state would be just fine. Let’s go!

I hate Detroit. Morons there bring us down every year.

They want jobs, but elect incompetent Rats that raise taxes on “big business” and drive them away.
The Dems are in the back pockets of the UAW.

MI Dems act like “big business” is the enemy, but wonder why the jobs go away from MI.

so let me get this straight:

we allow BHO to win so the country can go to he**, a Reagan can run/win in 2012.

Michigan has been ruined over the last decade. And the Democrats (Granholm, Levin, Stabenow) continue to win comfortably.

Bottom line, this could be another 1976, but don’t expect 1980.

PS> Sending resources to ME sounds like they think they can take at least 1 electoral vote which may make a huge difference.
