Our sister site TVNewser broke the story that Gwen Ifill, the moderator of the upcoming vice presidential debate this Thursday broke her ankle yesterday due to a misstep.

Now she can have something in common with the two candidates she's moderating...the missteps...ahem.

Word is she is still traveling to Missouri for the shindig. You go.

LOL. Supposedly the “break a leg” dates back to Shakespeare’s time — some popular actor was wished good luck by friends just before going on stage, and he actually broke his leg jumping around. Story goes that wishing him good luck actually caused him bad luck, so superstitious people began saying “break a leg” when they wanted the opposite for a favored actor...... don’t know if the legend has a factual basis or if it’s merely apocryphal.
