Some teachers are used to confiscating toys or other disruptive items kids bring from home. But marijuana?
A teacher at Harrington Avery D School, at 53rd Street and Baltimore Avenue, did just that yesterday when one of her second-grade students brought a bag of marijuana to school and showed it off to his friends, police said.
One alert classmate notified the teacher and the authorities were called, said Lt. John Walker of Southwest Detectives.
Police searched the home of the child's father, Lamar Anderson, 28, of 54th Street near Warrington Avenue, Southwest Philadelphia, and confiscated more marijuana and crack cocaine, Walker said.

A kid had to tell the teacher that it was actually a bag of pot?
Poor little kid. This is his dad’s fault but he probably thinks it is his.
Let this be a lesson to everyone. If you are going to get high, smoke or drink in front of your kid make sure the kid knows to never tell anyone that you get high, drink or smoke.

LOL....there is a saying that if you want to know the truth about your neighbors, ask their kids.

So the parents are called to come and get him. However, parents say " he has been nothing but trouble this whole year. Take him to jail, maybe an overnighter will shape him up".
Police go to the kid, and let him know the parents would like for him to do a night in jail.
So the kid (who is sobering up by now) tells the police "Oh yea. Well my folks smoke pot every night. It's in the hall closet behind some stuff in a shoe box.!"
Sooo, 4PM that afternoon, here come the Cops, warrant in hand, and everybody gets to spend the night in jail.
No, the headline was misleading and is another in a long list of shoddy reporting. The article never said it was shown during "show and tell" but that the kid showed it to some friends. They could have been hiding behind the lunchroom, in the boys' restroom, or anywere.
