What I don’t understand is WHY? Why would Any American who has been born and raised in this country want to bring Socialism or Communisim here? It boggles my mind. Do these type of people have to have lose their lives to realize that they had it pretty damn good after all?
Sick, just Sick.
I guess the good news is that it hasn’t worked yet. There are enough patriots left who have not and will not allow useful idiots to take away our freedoms.
I actually worked with someone who came from a Warsaw Pact country. His car was plastered with stickers for "People for the American Way", etc.
Maybe he thought it would finally work here.
I used to stand in the parking lot at lunch staring at his car in disgust, where he could see me. There was no point in talking to him.

I’m sure there are many answers to that. Here’s one. I had a conversation at the office. I was speaking with a soft-spoken reflective guy who had spent many years in academia and had many of those mannerisms and modes of thought down pat. He told me his ideas about things. I kept my voice neutral, as I said “that sounds like socialism.” He stroked his beard and and said, “Yes. But the American people aren’t ready for that word yet.”
We have adopted a lot of socialism, more that we realize. But we’ve avoided the word. I believe 50% of our income is spent by Government. Many people hold universal health insurance as a reasonable goal for the government to achieve.
Our children attend government schools, and most people see no issue in that. I was taught that when the Government owns the means of production, it wasn’t just socialism, it was communism. What are we talking about? How about owning the school buildings and hiring the teachers?
San Francisco may have recovered faster from their earthquake in 1906 than has New Orleans from their hurricane, but no one questions the necessity for having FEMA. I never even heard of FEMA for most of my life. Now there is outrage if FEMA doesn’t banish the effect of an emergency with 24 to 48 hours. There was no FEMA in 1906, and there should be no FEMA today.
It’s the old story about boiling a frog alive. You put him into room temperature water, and you increase the heat s-l-o-w-l-y. By the time he realizes it is boiling, he no longer cares.

The under-35 public-school educated generation has no reason to fear communism as they either have not been taught about it or have been lied to about it. When I was growing up, the little Nuns taught us all about the evils of communism and what happens to faithful Christians in a communist society.
Guilt!
They look at everything negative in this country and they look to the pied piper and hope that he will change the country!
Loved your post navymom1, you are right on.
