Don’t shoot the messenger.
Now that the deal has gone down, McCain should pin the bailout package on Obama and Bush and let the RATS stew in their own juices.Truly amazing. Yes, truly amazing. Its truly amazing that he is this tone-deaf. He is throwing away an electoral gift.
And what about the dimwits who surround him. I wonder what they are saying.
Obama will be completely redefined come Thursday night. He will never recover. In the subsequent debates, McCain will finish the job Palin starts.
That is my forecast. I am going to donate a few bucks to McCain if Palin rips into Obama like I hope come Thursday night. I expect to hear these words over and over: ACORN, Fannie, Freddie, Bill Ayers, and Rev. Wright.
What a bunch of girly-men.
Just a week ago everyone here was proclaiming what a polical genious McCain was.
He and Palin are battling against the combined might of the MSM, unfettered, without even pretense of objectivity.
Now he’s trying to play a badly-dealt hand as well as he can, with only $700,000,000,000.00 in the pot.
Buck up, you bunch of shameless wussies. Put on your testosterone patch, drink a beer, do somehting other than whine on FR all day.
And never, never, never, nver, never give up.
I reluctantly share your impressions 100%!
It was so bad that this morning I actually screamed at the TV - 1st time ever in my life. McC was on and noted that he might actually SUSPEND HIS CAMPAIGN AGAIN to “fix the problem”.
I can only think of the classic definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over and thinking that somehow you’re going to get a different result.
This is totally befuddling, to say the least.
Exactly, just like Barry Melrose with Stanley Cup predictions: whomever he favors, the opponent wins.
bob, we have infiltrators. They show up once every 4 years to try to influence the FReeper vote.
They are usually ignored.
(I notice several posters on this thread who joined in 98, 99, 2000—but I’ve never seen them post before.)
I agree. McCain will win, because America will not elect a Marxist/Socialist.
The electorate will not allow it.
Obama has to win at least 3 Red states to win, and near the vote the Red states minus Iowa will tighten.
Many here like myself, want McCain to FIGHT!!!! I understand their anger.
look like it was energized, passionate and exciting.
McCain's continued erosion in the polls continues unabated.
They could at least be sent to the smoky backroom.
I heard on Fox News, can’t remember who, that McCain advisers told him it would be irresponsible to come out against the bailout. Sounds like something Forbes would say to him.
McCain is playing Senator. They bargain. They negotiate. They reach across the aisle. They give speeches. They vote on legislation and resolutions.
That is why Senators/Congresspersons should not run for president.
The presidency requires a leader. One who stands at the front. One who faces the crisis head-on. One who is adept at making executive decisions.
Of course, the other Senator said he would phone it in.
[Shaking head — these 2 are what we are stuck with. Can’t we just have a do-over instead?]
It’s a good enough ad, as far as it goes (which isn’t very far, not showing the Obama connection more strongly), but it’s still just an ad.
John McCain has to be out there speaking, getting in people’s faces, getting in the faces of the media, demanding justice for the taxpayer.
He’s not doing that and that’s why so many here are so rightfully angry and so rightfully fearful that we are now facing a more-certain Obummer victory.
It doesn’t have to be that way, Senator McCain. It doesn’t have to be that way.
Please, do not let it be said in mid-November of this year that you could have won if only you had wanted to win.
Please. Want to win.
I think either Rudy or Mitt would have closed the election out Friday.
McCain stumbled around in the dark, grasping for in vain for a ‘bi-partisan’ hand.
Morris wanted Guliani as VP.
He called it Condi vs Hillary in 2007.
Said Bush would lose in a landslide during the fall of 2004.
He is your Drunken Uncle.
I agree, and one thing I can do is vote against Lindsey Graham. I truly believe the (D) in that race is more conservative than Lindsey.
I am sick and tired of Republicans fighting like they are little girls...It's the Georgina Bush, Karlina Rove way.
And now it seems Juanita is picking it up, too.
